I’m sitting in the Will Rogers Airport in OKC, getting ready to leave for Omak. I had a pretty good week last week. I ended up winning two rounds and placed in a round at the Spicer Gripp and finished third in the average, so I won a little over $11,000 there. When we got done there, we drove all night to Sikeston, Mo. We roped the next afternoon there, and I'm sitting 4th in the average and second in a round.
At the Spicer Gripp I switched over to Griffin, and he’s doing great. I bought Griffin from Brad Goodrich last year. He has come along really, really solid here lately. Muenster is out for a few weeks. I’m going to have to rely on my other guys, but I've got some really great options.
I got to spend 18 hours at home after Sikeston. I went home, and I got to catch up with a bunch of people. We had friends visiting from Brazil, and I had a photo shoot for a sponsor. I pretty much worked all day, slept til 3:30 a.m. then drove to Lovington, NM. I’m winning second in the average and second in the round there. From Lovington we drove all night last night until 6 a.m. to Lawton, Okla. I’m sitting second at Lawton, all on Griffin.
I’m flying to Omak, Wash., and I’m up there in the morning. I’ll ride another horse there, Tuff. I’ll ride him at Hermiston and Omak, and we’ll drive to Caldwell. I’ll meet back up with my wife and Griffin there.
I told Shea the other day that I’m the only one with two rigs and five horses and a driver on the road but when I get to the rodeo I ride someone else’s horse. Winning is the main focus, so I ride the best I can get on, and usually that's Muenster. Looking forward to when he gets back!
I needed this hot streak. I could have used it in July, but August is just as good. That's about all that's been going on, check in with you later!
