2020 NFR Round 2: Steer Report
Here's the team roping steer report for the 2020 NFR's second round.

This set of National Finals Rodeo team roping steers will be medium—a departure from Round 1. They didn’t start as sharp as the first round, so the start will be trickier. These are sorted mainly by speed and start, rather than size. Substitute team roping director and CNFR champ Billy Bob Brown fills us in on the draw:

Jeff Flenniken and Tyler Worley: 839

Sharp and handled well.

Nelson Wyatt and Levi Lord: 827

Great steer. Probably the day-money steer.

Erich Rogers and Paden Bray: 560

Good but faded left.

Chad Masters and Wesley Thorp: 580

Good but faded left a little.

Charly Crawford and Logan Medlin: 835

Medium. Really good steer.

Levi Simpson and Shay Carroll: 583

Medium, good steer.

Clay Tryan and Jake Long: 836

Medium, stepped left. Clay will be fine.

Andrew Ward and Buddy Hawkins: 750

That’s a good one. They deserve it—they had the runner in the first round.

Dustin Egusquiza and Travis Graves: 532

This one leaves sharp and faded left.

Colby Lovell and Paul Eaves: 708

Started slower, and then ran straight.

Cody Snow and Junior Nogueira: 837

He didn’t start real sharp, but he’s got good speed. Snow scores well enough he’ll drill it and they’ll make a great run.

Clay Smith and Jade Corkill: 793

Fought his head a little, but that won’t matter for Jade.

Luke Brown and Joseph Harrison: 559

Leaves sharp and runs straight.

Brenten Hall and Chase Tryan: 855

Best speed in the pen. He’s a tick low-headed, but he’s honest and medium. This is a great chance.

Kolton Schmidt and Hunter Koch: 513

This steer left sharp and handled well but was a little low-headed. TRJ
