The 2022 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo steers will prove to be the smallest set of Hill Rodeo Cattle in recent memory—changing the game inside the 96-foot by 142-foot at the Thomas & Mack.

Round 1 Draw

Jake Orman and Brye Crites: 48

This steer should be medium-plus. They missed him the first time, so they had to put an extra run on him. That means he should leave sharp.

Riley Minor and Brady Minor: 37

He’s got smaller horns and he was medium on the run through. He’s a chance for a good check.

Lightning Aguilera and Jonathan Torres: 59

This is a taller steer with bigger horns and fairly strong. This little arena won’t let him get away from Lightning.

Cody Snow and Wesley Thorp: 56

He’s medium and straight and not a lot of action. He’s a softer one in the set.

Chad Masters and Joseph Harrison: 53

He’s a stronger steer, but Chad is going to ride Jimmy tonight and he looked good in the run through. This could be a go-round win.

JR Dees and Levi Lord: 57

He’s medium on the run, flat and level-headed.

Tyler Wade and Trey Yates: 43

This is a black and white paint steer. He’s just a good steer and these guys are good in the first round.

Rhen Richard and Jeremy Buhler: 33

This is a sharp leading steer and should be one of the stronger ones of the set.

Dustin Egusquiza and Travis Graves: 52

This is a go-round chance for Dustin. He’s medium and straight.

Tanner Tomlinson and Patrick Smith: 58

This steer is a little softer on the run. He’s just a good steer.

Coleman Proctor and Logan Medlin: 54

This one is medium on the run, high-headed and should handle fast.

Andrew Ward and Buddy Hawkins: 45

He’s medium to medium plus. He should have his head up and be easy to knock down but he does run a little bit.

Clay Smith and Jake Long: 49

Really sharp leaving and pretty strong. He’ll try a little on the run.

Clay Tryan and Jade Corkill: 42

Medium—Lightning Aguilera turned him in the run through fast, and he should be a go-round chance.

Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira: 36

They missed him in the run through. He should be straight and he should try. Driggers’ lane and horsepower, he should be fine and around a 4.5.
