ProRodeo Results Wrap Up: Sept. 18, 2017
Duby and McCoin take home the Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up win, Buhler and Hawkins do battle for #15 spot.

Steven Duby and Trevor McCoin secured the average win at the Pendleton (Ore.) Round-Up with a time of 22.7 seconds on three head to bank $6,440 each. Their team took home first in the final round with a time of 5.9 seconds to add $1,443 to each man’s paycheck and punch their ticket to the Columbia River Circuit Finals.

Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira are in the hunt to step back into the number-one spot in the PRCA world standings after winning a total of $5,487 each last week. At the Albuquerque New Mexico State Fair & Rodeo, their team placed first in the second round with a time of 4.2 seconds worth $1,604 each. Then at the Rose City Roundup in Tyler, Texas, the duo tied for fourth place with Quisto Lopez and Justin Pruitt with a 4.5 second run worth $730 each. At the West Texas Fair & Rodeo in Abilene, Texas, the team took home second in the first round with a 4.8-second run, worth $728, first in the second round with a time of 4.1 seconds, worth $950, and took home the average win with a combined time of 8.9 seconds on two head adding $1,455 each to their weekend earnings.

Clay Smith and Paul Eaves continue to stay in the top five of the World Standings after winning a total of $3,023 each. Smith and Eaves tied with Kelsey Parchman and Wesley Thorp at The Rose City Round-Up in Tyler, Texas for second place with a 4.8-second run worth $819 each. Then again at Tyler, Texas Rose City Roundup the team took home first with a 4.1-second run, adding $1,840 to their total earnings. At the West Texas Fair & Rodeo in Abilene, Texas Smith and Eaves placed fourth in the average with a total time of 18.2 seconds on two head to take home $364 each.

On the heel side, the number-15 spot is up for grabs. Buddy Hawkins went into the weekend making the cut with $64,250, and Jeremy Buhler was 16th with $63,851. Buhler went to Olds, Alberta’s Oldstoberfest ProRodeo and was 3.9 with Levi Simpson to win $1,500, while Hawkins went to Albuquerque and was 12.4 on two for a go-round and average check worth $885. Unofficially (standings haven’t been updated yet on ProRodeo.com) that should put Buhler $216 ahead of Hawkins. Kyle Lockett is sitting a few thousand back but can likely rope at every rodeo until the end of the season without running out of rodeos, where Buhler and Hawkins are on borrowed time as their rodeo counts tick away.
