Born Ta Be Famous hails from barrel racing royalty as a son of all-time leading barrel racing sire Dash Ta Fame out of SX Frenchmans Vanila, a daughter of Frenchmans Guy that has created a maternal legacy. “Famous” has left his own mark on the industry as he recently became a million-dollar sire in barrel racing.
Eric Ward knew the stallion was a great cross to breed on race mares to continue in the barrel pen, but also found that crossing to cow-bred mares had the potential to make standout team roping horses. C3 Ranch & W3 Farms have been crossing Famous on Smart Little Lena and High Brow Cat mares with aspirations of them being successful in both heading and heeling.
“Famous puts size on the smaller cow horses. They have a solid stature and stand around 15.1–15.2 hands,” Ward said about breeding for team roping horses. “His foals are good-minded and trainable—which is ideal in both barrel racing and team roping.”
His foals are eligible for the Riata Buckle, Ruby Buckle, Colorado Classic, Future Fortunes, Blue Collar Breeder’s Incentive, PESI, Select Stallion Stakes, Triple Crown 100 and Top Shelf Breeder’s Incentive.
