Riley Kittle has taken control of the 2025 Resistol Rookie Header of the Year race after raking in $7,429 June 11-15.

The Alabamian-turned-Texan has $19,734.28 won on his rookie season, leading the pack by $4,918.76 with Devon Johnson following behind at $14,815.52. Kittle is hitting the summer ProRodeo road hard with his partner Landen Glenn, hitting from the West Coast to the central plains over the weekend to propel Kittle to the top.

Kittle and Glenn started the weekend June 9, in Oklahoma at the Woodward Elks Rodeo where they won fourth with a 5.2 for $3,024 apiece. They headed west to the Eagle Rodeo in Idaho June 13, followed by Sisters Rodeo in Oregon that same night. A 5.2 in Eagle pocketed them $2,115 a man for sixth, and their 6.2 in Sisters won them $1,467 a man. They rounded out the weekend June 14, at California’s Livermore Rodeo where they picked up $823 a man for 10th with a 6.7-second run.

Kittle, 23, may be a rookie, but he’s already been making a name for himself in the team roping world. Kittle had a breakout year in 2022, picking up the CNFR title in June, followed by his share of $162,000 for the win Priefert #14.5 Finale win at the Ariat World Series of Team Roping Finale. Since then, Kittle continues to prove he belongs, winning the 2023 WCRA Rodeo Corpus Christi.
