Third Times the Charm: Round 7 NFR Team Roping Steer Report
The third run for the first pen of steers at the 2025 NFR.

The steers from Rounds 1 and 4 will see their third run inside the Thomas & Mack for Round 7 of the 2025 NFR.

Luke Brown and Trey Yates have the money steer, which has accounted for $52,241.97 in earnings. But our steer experts Cory Kidd and Carson Johnson have their own picks, too, based on their insider insight:

“Clay Smith and Coleby Payne and Dustin Egusquiza and Levi Lord are Carson’s picks based on the cattle,” Kidd said. “I like Tanner’s steer as well. But Begay and Todd are going to start the round off with a bang. I pick the best steers that I think I’d like to run. I think anyone in the building can blast at anytime. It’s not always been this way—it’s been a treat for us fans to watch this year.”
