The 2026 PRCA regular season has 37 days left on the clock, and for the first time all summer, the World Standings have new names at the top.

With the season closing September 30 and the Cinch Playoff Series—Puyallup on September 10-13 and the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls September 25-27—set to reshuffle the qualifying picture before anyone backs into the box at the Thomas & Mack in December, the fourth quarter of the 2026 season is shaping up to be quite the race to the finish line.

And this week explains why. A stacked Pacific Northwest swing—the $336,000-added Caldwell Night Rodeo, Gooding Pro Rodeo, the Moses Lake Round-Up and Canby Rodeo, plus the Cassia County Fair & Rodeo in Burley—put real money on the line all week, and a handful of Top 20 ropers cashed in big enough to rewrite it all heading into the last week of August and into September.

The Week That Moved the Board

Caldwell was where it started.

Nelson Wyatt and Jonathan Torres had the single biggest payday of the week for anybody in the Top 20. The guys walked out of Caldwell with well over $12,000 each for the win and placing in the long rounds and that wasn’t all—a tie for second at Moses Lake ($4,876 each) and a check for third in Burley ($2,062) pushed their week’s total to right around $19,400 apiece.

It’s the reason Wyatt moved 10 spots to No. 14 on the head side and Torres jumped six to No. 18 on the heel side.

Brye Crites and Ross Ashford were right in the thick of it at Caldwell too, tying for second in the first round ($3,703 each), then adding a check in the finals and average ($287 and $1,501 each). They kept it rolling at Gooding, tying for third with Dustin Egusquiza and JC Flake ($4,428 each) — good for a combined $9,919 week that carried Ashford four spots up the heel side to No. 6.

Egusquiza and Flake didn’t stop at Gooding. They added money Moses Lake ($2,731 each) and closed the week with the win at Burley (4.0 seconds, $2,696 each)—three checks across three rodeos, good for a $9,855 week that pushed Egusquiza up to No. 10 and Flake up to No. 13 on the heel side.

Meanwhile Tanner Tomlinson and Wesley Thorp quietly put together one of the better weeks of the pack. A tie for third in the Caldwell finals ($677 each) turned into the No. 2 spot in the average ($6,006 apiece) — the second-biggest check of the week behind Wyatt and Torres—and they backed it up with 4th at Moses Lake ($3,901). That’s over $10,500 apiece in three days, and it’s the reason Tomlinson didn’t lose more ground on the head side despite the traffic jam above him.

And then there was the reason the world lead flipped.

Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira split a tie for 6th at Caldwell in the first round ($1,301 each) and picked up 4th in the average ($4,204 each) .They turned around and won Gooding (4.1 seconds, $6,038 each), then won the Moses Lake (4.0 seconds, $5,852 each). Back-to-back rodeo wins worth nearly $12,000 combined is how Driggers and Nogueira retook the world lead on both ends of the rope this week.

By contrast, Korbin Rice and Cooper Freeman—the boys who’ve been No. 1 since March—had a slower week by comparison, picking up 11th at Gooding ($1,409 each).

It’s a reminder of how thin the margin is at the top: Driggers and Nogueira now lead the world by less than $250.

A Look into the Shuffle on Both Ends

Head Side

Two-time world champion Driggers ($175,744.06) is back on top. He past Rice on the strength of the Gooding/Moses Lake run detailed above. Rice slides to No. 2 after holding the top spot most of the summer.

Tyler Tryan ($144,105.25) holds at No. 3 after his tie for 2nd at Caldwell with Nicky Northcott. Jake Smith ($129,532.54) stays at No. 4 despite a good week himself — he and Douglas Rich won the Caldwell finals ($1,189 each) and won 3rd in the average ($5,105) — and Dawson Graham ($96,841.32) holds his No. 12 spot after he and brother Dillon won the Caldwell second round ($4,604 each).

James Arviso ($122,285.92) ticks up one spot to No. 5, and reigning world champion Andrew Ward ($104,955.48) climbs one to No. 8 after he and Jake Long were 2nd at Gooding ($5,233 apiece). Brye Crites ($103,535.59) jumps two spots to No. 9 off the week detailed above, and Dustin Egusquiza ($98,219.39) picks up three to reach No. 10 on the back of his three-rodeo week with JC Flake.

On the other side, Tanner Tomlinson ($120,326.58, No. 6) and Lightning Aguilera ($116,616.61, No. 7) each slipped one spot — Tomlinson’s strong week with Wesley Thorp wasn’t quite enough to hold off the ropers coming behind him — while Coy Rahlmann ($97,804.59) dropped three to No. 11 and Cody Snow ($95,973.97) fell three to No. 13.

The headline move of the week belongs to Nelson Wyatt ($92,681.22), who rocketed 10 spots to No. 14 off the Caldwell/Moses Lake/Burley stretch detailed above—the single biggest jump in the Top 20 on either side.

Right behind him, Clint Summers ($89,684.89) climbed three to No. 15, holding the last guaranteed Top 15 spot for now but with company closing fast. Riley Minor ($89,013.07, No. 16), Ketch Kelton ($88,082.03, No. 17) and Brenten Hall ($86,860.83, No. 18) each gave back two spots and now sit in the group that has to answer back before the season closes.

And nobody answered louder this week than Tee McLeod ($84,584.60), who jumped six spots to No. 19 after a piece of the Caldwell first round and the Canby average title with Jake Edwards. Kavis Drake ($83,015.58) rounds out the Top 20 at No. 20, down three spots — he now finds himself squarely on the bubble, right alongside longtime heeling partner Denim Ross, who slid to No. 23 on the heel side this week.

Heel Side

The heel side tells almost the identical story at the very top.

Junior Nogueira ($175,744.03) has retaken the world lead off the Gooding/Moses Lake sweep. Cooper Freeman ($175,502.76) drops to No. 2, still carrying his season built on the RodeoHouston win with Rice.

Nicky Northcott ($145,456.25, No. 3) and Levi Lord ($123,470.74, No. 4) both held solid, giving the top four on the heel side the exact same shape as the top four on the head side.

Douglas Rich ($113,532.54) climbed one to No. 5 off the Caldwell finals win with Smith. But the real story in the middle of the pack is Ross Ashford ($108,437.21), who jumped four spots to No. 6 riding the Crites/Ashford run detailed above — the biggest single-week move in the heel side’s Top 10—and now sits comfortably clear of the cut line for the first time all season.

Kaden Profili ($107,992.17) picked up two to reach No. 7, and Jake Long ($104,955.48) climbed four to No. 9 off his week with Andrew Ward, sandwiching a good week from Trey Yates ($105,452.49) at No. 8. JC Flake ($98,219.39) also jumped four spots, up to No. 13—a nice answer after he spent 2024 and 2025 knocking on the door of his first NFR qualification, and this week’s three-rodeo run with Dustin Egusquiza is exactly the kind of week that changes a season.

The ropers giving ground: Dillon Graham ($104,136.32) slipped one to No. 10 despite the Caldwell check. Coleby Payne ($102,797.57) dropped four to No. 11, and Logan Medlin ($98,770.44) fell four to No. 12. Denton Dunning ($96,937.34, No. 14), Wyatt Cox ($95,485.27, No. 15), Trent Vaught ($94,734.38, No. 16) and Lane Mitchell ($93,270.92, No. 17) each gave back one or two spots — a lot of lateral movement in a tightly bunched group that’s going to be worth watching every week from here out.

The heel side’s answer to Wyatt’s big week is Jonathan Torres, who jumped six spots to No. 18 riding the same Caldwell/Moses Lake/Burley stretch. Jade Corkill ($89,684.89) ticked up one to No. 19, and Brady Minor ($89,013.08) rounds out the Top 20 at No. 20, down two after Torres and Ashford both jumped him.
