Rancho Rio to Host First Tour Stop of America’s Team Roping Challenge
The all-new America’s Team Roping Challenge will showcase top ropers in a progressive-style format awarding big money to the champions.

America’s Team Roping Challenge is the latest idea from veteran team roping producer Ty Yost—who also serves as the President of Team Roping Operations at The Equine Network, LLC. Designed to showcase the western industry’s most popular equine sport, in a made-for-television format, America’s Team Roping Challenge allows elite ropers from all walks of life to compete in a two-hour and 30-minute show for a big-time payout.

The roping, where the “fastest time wins,” will feature an easy-to-understand progressive format, where 60 teams are whittled down to the event champions. With multiple ways to earn money, and $10,000 going to the champion team, America’s Team Roping Challenge is primed to be a competitor and fan favorite. The roping is capped at a #16.5 team, where no team less than a #15 will be allowed to enter. All series tour stops will be pre-enter only online at GlobalHandicaps.com.

This new series will consist of 12 events throughout the next 10 months concluding with America’s Team Roping Challenge Championship, where season-end champions will be crowned. The inaugural event will be held Thursday, February 18, at Rancho Rio in Wickenburg, Arizona, and will be broadcast live by the Wrangler Network (www.wranglernetwork.com) at 1:00 p.m. MST.
