Cowboy Christmas Pro Rodeo Results Wrap-Up: Smith and Corkill Bank $25,419
Clay Smith and Jade Corkill dominated over the Cowboy Christmas run; Erich Rogers and Payden Bray added $17,350 to their earnings; Driggers and Nogueira continue to move up in the standings and more.

Clay Smith and Jade Corkill dominated over the Cowboy Christmas run, adding a total of $25,419 to each of their earnings. After winning the Greeley (Colorado) Stampede with a time of 17.4-seconds on three head, worth $3,982 a man, and placing second in the first round with a 4.8-second-run, worth $2,309 a man, and second in the final round with a 6.6-second-run, worth $1,020 a man, they continued to surge. 

“I don’t know if the other 12 (Cowboy Christmas runs) that I’ve had added together would equal $25,000,” Corkill said. “This is by far the best one.”

They won the Eugene (Oregon) Pro Rodeo with a 4.0-second-run, worth $3,429 a man. They continued to bring the heat, tying Brooks Dahozy and Walt Woodard  at the Cody (Wyoming) Stampede with a 4.8-second-run, worth $8,599 a man. They ended their Cowboy Christmas run winning second in the average at the St. Paul (Oregon) Rodeo with a time of 10.5-seconds on two head, worth $4,395 a man. They placed sixth in the first round with a 5.2-second-run, worth $1,172 a man, and tied Lane Karney and Bucky Campbell with a 5.3-second-run, worth $513 a man. 

“I think that being older, it’s not like I don’t know how it is out here and what happens,” Corkill said. “You just kind of have to know how to not necessarily worry about being behind, or if you didn’t win over the Fourth, it’s not that big of a deal—just the little ins and outs of stuff like that, that I think takes time to experience it and to know what to do. I think that helps a lot.”

Smith continues to stay in the number-one spot in PRCA world standings with $92,389.25. Corkill shuffled from 10th to seventh with $50,514.96. 

Another team that was on fire over the Fourth was 2017 World Champion Header Erich Rogers and 2019 Resistol Rookie contender Paden Bray. They won the average at the St. Paul Rodeo with a time of 10.3-seconds on two head, worth $5,054 a man. They placed fifth in the first round with a 5.1-second-run, worth $1,612 a man, and fifth in the second round with a 5.2-second-run, worth $1,392 a man. 

They continued their luck in the averages at the Ponoka (Alberta) Stampede, winning the rodeo with a time of 19.9-seconds on three head, worth $2,463 a man. They placed third in the first round with a 6.3-second-run, worth $1,323 a man, and won the second round with a 5.2-second-run, worth $1,642 a man.

Rogers and Bray continued their winning streak, tying Josh Siggins and Junior Zambrano for first at the Annual Fourth of July Celebration in Window Rock, Arizona with a 4.6-second-run, worth $2,470 a man. 

They also tied Garett Chick and Ross Ashford for fifth in the average at the World’s Oldest Rodeo in Prescott, Arizona with a time of 13.6-seconds on two head, worth $1,122 a man. Rogers and Bray placed sixth in the first round with a 7.2-second-run, worth $218 a man. They also tied Steven and Jason Duby and Matt Sherwood and Hunter Koch for 10th at the Home of Champions Rodeo in Red Lodge, Montana with a 4.9-second-run, worth $54 a man.

Rogers and Bray added a total of $17,350 to each of their earnings. Rogers is now 21st in the world standings with $30,481.08. Bray is 23rd with $28,325.22 and is now leading the Resistol Rookie heeling standings.  

Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira added a total of $13,922 to each of their earnings over the Cowboy Christmas run. They tied Cody Snow and Wesley Thorp for first at the Oakley City (Utah) Independence Day Rodeo with a 3.8-second-run, worth $4,852 a man. Then at the Molalla (Oregon) Buckeroo Rodeo, Driggers and Nogueira won second with a 4.5-second-run, worth $2,770 a man.

They also placed third at the Black Hills Roundup in Belle Fourche, South Dakota with a 4.9-second-run, adding $3,557 to each man’s earnings. They placed sixth at the Home of Champions Rodeo with a 4.5-second-run, worth $1,131 a man. At the Cody Stampede, they tied Paul David Tierney and Tanner Braden and Aaron Macy and Dillon Wingereid for eighth with a 5.2-second-run, worth $1,612 a man.

Driggers is now seventh in the world standings, and Nogueira is sixth with $52,663.46, respectively. 

2016 World Champion Header Levi Simpson and NFR qualifier Cole Davison added a total of $12,442 to their earnings. They won the Livingston (Montana) Roundup with a 4.2-second-run, worth $6,581 a man. They also placed third in the average at the St. Paul Rodeo with a time of 10.6-seconds on two head, worth $3,736 a man. They placed seventh in the first round with a 5.4-second run, worth $733 a man, and tied fifth in the second round Rogers and Bray for fifth in the second round with a 5.2-second-run, worth $1,392 a man. Simpson is 27th in the standings with $26,001.77. Davison is 18th with $32,545.20.

Along with tying Driggers and Nogueira for first at the Oakley City Independence Day Rodeo with a 3.8-second-run, worth $4,852 a man, Cody Snow and Wesley Thorp also placed fourth in the average at the St. Paul Rodeo with a time of 10.8-seconds on two head, worth $3,077 a man. They tied Luke Brown and Paul Eaves with a 5.8-second-run, worth $4,852 a man. They placed fourth in the second round with a 5.0-second-run, worth $2,051 a man. They placed second in the second round at the World’s Oldest Rodeo with a 5.3-second-run, worth $1,869 a man. Snow is now sixth in the world standings with $59,062.22. Thorp is eighth with $49,894.74.

Lane Ivy and Cesar de la Cruz tied Travis Tryan and Justin Viles to win the Big Fork (Montana) Summer ProRodeo with a 4.4-second-run, worth $1,647 a man. They also won the Cody Stampede with a 4.5-second-run, worth $10,211 a man. Ivy moved into the top 30 with $23,701.15. de la Cruz is 35th with $21,161.19.
