The Rocky Mountain Cup team roping returns to Calgary, Alberta, with 30 teams set to rope Aug. 24, 2025.

In the same fashion as the Calgary Stampede, the roster is set off invitation, featuring 30 teams invited to compete. In 2024, JC Yeahquo and Kollin VonAhn paired up for the win and pocketed $16,292. Coleman Proctor and Logan Medlin took home the title and $13,518 a man in 2023.

What is the format of the Rocky Mountain Cup?

The Rocky Mountain Cup will feature two complete long rounds with the top eight in the average on two head advancing to the Semifinals. The top four from the Semifinals will advance to the Finals.

What is the payout of the Rocky Mountain Cup?

There’s a purse of $100,000 on each end at the 2025 Rocky Mountain Cup, and 80% of money won will count for the 2025 PRCA world standings.

There are 30 teams invited to the Rocky Mountain Cup. The top five headers and heelers from the 2024 CPRA final standings, top 10 headers and heelers from the 2024 PRCA world standings and the top 15 headers and heelers from the 2025 PRCA world standings (as of July 28, 2025) not already qualified.
