Utah’s biggest rodeo is back July 21-25, with the 2026 Utah Days of ’47. The top 30 from the 2026 PRCA Playoff Series standings, plus the top 10 from the 2026 PRCA world standings are hunting for gold in Salt Lake City, and here’s everything team roping fans need to know.

Who qualified in the team roping?
Utah Days of ’47 is taking 40 teams in 2026. The top 30 in the 2026 PRCA Playoff Series Standings and the top 10 in the 2026 PRCA world standings as of July 6, will be invited. If the top 30 from the Playoff Series do not enter, the next highest ranked contestants from the 2026 world standings who enter will be accepted.
What’s the Days of ’47 format?
Team ropers will compete in two back-to-back go rounds with 10 teams in each bracket. All teams will rope in the morning slack of their bracket as well as the night performance. The top two teams based on the average advance to the Finals July 25.
If ties result in more than two teams advancing to the Finals, the team with the fastest time in either of the first two go rounds will advance. If still tied, the team with the highest ranking in the 2026 world standings as of July 6, will advance.
Ties in the Finals will be broken by the contestant with the fastest average in the long rounds. What’s the payout at the Days of ’47?
The Utah Days of ’47 has a purse of $133,334 in the team roping ($66,667 per side). Utah Days of ’47 will pay the long rounds but not the average. Each long round, which includes all four slacks for the first go round and the first four performances for the second go round, will be paid off individually. There will not be a payoff for each performance.
