The Northwest continues to shake up the team roping race to the 2025 NFR, as well as the PRCA Playoff Series standings, with Labor Day weekend success.
With three PRCA Playoff Series rodeos—Ellensburg (Washington), Walla Walla (Washington) and Filer (Idaho)—over Labor Day weekend, bubble teams capitalized to jump in the world standings, and the tour standings have new leaders.

JC Yeahquo and Ross Ashford: $11,980
JC Yeahquo and Ross Ashford have been riding the bubble much of the summer, and they took centerstage over the weekend, winning the Ellensburg Rodeo and $11,980 a man. Yeahquo and Ashford roped three steers in 16.4 seconds to pocket $10,712 apiece in Ellensburg, and they also won $1,268 a man at the Walla Walla Frontier Days. Prior to the weekend, Yeahquo sat No. 20 in the world standings, and Ashford No. 22. Thanks to their big weekend, Yeahquo is now staring down the Top 15 at No. 17 with $96,661.04, and Ashford is No. 19 with $87,228.92. With Ellensburg and Walla Walla both being PRCA Playoff Series rodeos, it also jumped Yeahquo and Ashford to No. 14 in tour standings with just two weeks remaining on the tour front.
Clint Summers and Jade Corkill: $7,959
Clint Summers and Jade Corkill continue to solidify their 2025 NFR tickets, winning $7,959 a man over the weekend utilizing the Big Sky Country. Summers and Corkill took the win at the Dillon Jaycees PRCA Rodeo-Montana’s Biggest Weekend with a 4.6-second run for $2,309 apiece, and they won $2,052 a man for second at the Meagher County Labor Day Rodeo in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. They also pocketed $3,598 apiece for third in Walla Walla. Summers remains No. 7 in the world standings, now with $130,238.96, and Corkill is still No. 6 with $130,564.18.
Kolton Schmidt and Chase Tryan: $7,840
For Kolton Schmidt, the last few weeks have seen him riding the bubble. But, thanks to a $7,840-a-man weekend with Chase Tryan, he’s now No. 10 in the world with $108,772.77. Schmidt is chasing his third NFR qualification and first since 2020. Schdmit and Tryan picked up second in the first round in Ellensburg for $3,521 a man, as well as fifth at the Magic Valley Stampede in Filer, Idaho, for $2,333 apiece. They rounded out the weekend with $1,986 a man at the Lake County Round-Up in Lakeview, Oregon. For Tryan, the weekend success pushed him to No. 28 in the world with $62,544.65 won on the year.
Clay Smith and Nicky Northcott: $7,385
Clay Smith and Nicky Northcott’s $7,385-a-man weekend held Smith’s position at No. 6 in the world and bumped Northcott to No. 20. Smith and Northcott won second in Lakeview for $2,979 a man, but their biggest run came with the Filer win for $4,406 apiece. With Filer being a tour rodeo, the win moved Smith to sixth in the PRCA Playoff Series standings and jumped Northcott to No. 12. While both are in for the Cinch Playoff Series this weekend in Puyallup, Washington, Smith is currently in for the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, but Northcott is right outside the top-eight cutoff.
Dawson and Dillon Graham: $7,372
Dawson and Dillon Graham have been in and out of the Top 15 since mid August (Dillon has been inside since Aug. 25) but, thanks to a $7,372-a-man weekend, are back inside at No. 15 and 12. The Graham brothers won Walla Walla for $4,907 a man and took home $2,465 apiece in the second round in Ellensburg. The tour rodeo win in Walla Walla also pushed them to No. 13 in the PRCA Playoff Series standings.
Honorable Mention
Andrew Ward and Jake Long are hot off the Rocky Mountain Cup win and are keeping the hot streak alive. Ward and Long won $6,341 apiece, finishing fourth in Ellensburg for $3,697 a man. Ward and Long now sit No. 8 and 7 in the world standings with $120,131.60 and $118,385.05 won on the year thus far. Significant as well, their weekend success pushed them to No. 8 in the PRCA Playoff Series standings, making them now the cut for Sioux Falls.
Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira had a big weekend, giving them a boost in both the world and tour standings. The 2021 and 2022 world champs pocketed $5,145 apiece with checks in Walla Walla and Ellensburg. Capitalizing at the two largest tour rodeos the weekend gave Driggers and Nogueira the lead in the PRCA Playoff Series standings with 1181.5 points. The big checks also pushed Driggers to No. 3 in the world and held Nogueira’s spot at No. 4, both with 142,433.74 won on the year.
