Dustin Bird and Trey Yates won Cheyenne Frontier Days’ new tournament style rodeo by roping their Championship Sunday steer in a quick 7.8 seconds, adding $9,459 to each of their earnings. 

Bird and Yates started off at “The Daddy of Em All” placing sixth in the average after the team roping slack was over with a time of 19.4-seconds on two head, worth $846 a man. They came back to the performances, placing second in the fourth performance with a 9.2-second-run, worth $1,674 a man, advancing them to the final round. 

Yates also teamed up with his dad J.D. Yates to win second at Nebraska’s Big Rodeo in Burwell with a 5.4-second-run, worth $1,636 a man.

Bird added a total of $11,975 to his earnings, moving him to 29th in the PRCA world standing with $33,839.30. Yates added a total of $13,615 to his earnings, moving him to 16th in the standings with $43,941.84

Nick Sartain and Austin Rogers added a total of $10,085 to their earnings this week. They won the Deadwood (South Dakota) Days of ’76 Rodeo with a time of 10.4-seconds on two head, worth $2,679 a man. The tied Tanner Baldwin and Nano Garza and Paul David Tierney and Tanner Braden for seventh in the first round with a 6.0-second-run, worth $181 a man. They placed second in the second round with a 4.4-second-run, worth $1,553 a man. 

At the Ogden (Utah) Pioneer Days rodeo Sartain and Rogers tied Lane Ivy and Cesar de la Cruz for first in the first round with a 4.6-second-run, worth $2,044 a man.  At “The Daddy of ’em All” they tied Chad Masters and Joseph Harrison for third in the seventh performance with a 9.2-second-run, worth $1,395 a man, and won the eighth performance with a 8.4-second-run, worth $2,233 a man.

Sartain is 32nd and Rogers is 31st in the PRCA world standings with $31,195, respectively. 

2017 Resistol Rookie Header Nelson Wyatt and Levi Lord won the Spanish Fork (Utah) Fiesta Days Rodeo with a time of 8.6-seconds on two head, worth $4,383 a man. They tied Tyler Waters and Seth Smithson for second in the first round with a 4.1-second-run, worth $2,350 a man, and placed sixth in the second round with a 4.5-second-run, worth $1,016 a man. 

Wyatt is currently 17th in the PRCA world standings with $44,226.01. Lord is 15th with $45,362.71. 

Tate Kirchenschlager and Buddy Hawkins II added a total of $7,215 to each of their earnings. They won the Kit Carson County Pro Rodeo in Burlington, Colorado with a 5.4-second-run, worth $1,295 a man. 

They placed third in the average at the Deadwood Days of ’76 Rodeo with a time of 10.9 second on two head, worth $1,980 a man. They tied Aaron Tsinigine and Patrick Smith for fourth in the first round with a 5.7-second-run, worth $971 a man, and placed fifth in the second round with a 5.2-second-run, worth $854 a man. 

At the Ogden Pioneer Days rodeo they tied Garrett Tonozzi and Dustin Davis for seventh in the average with a time of 10.8-seconds on two head, worth $499 a man. They won third in the first round with a 4.8-second-run, adding $1,616 to their earnings. 

Kirchenschlager is 11th in the standings with $56,358.39. Hawkins II is 36th with $27,818.70.

The Minor Brothers had a big weekend. Riley and Brady Minor won the Chief Joseph (Oregon) Days rodeo with a time of 11.9-seconds on two head, worth $2,261 a man. They tied Jordan Tye and Jason Minor for fourth in the first round with a 6.3-second-run, worth $598 a man. They placed second in the second round with a 5.6-second-run, worth $1,247 a man. 

They also tied Logan and Keely Bonnett to win the Medicine Hat (Alberta) Stampede with a 4.9-second-run, worth $2,233 a man. They also tied Joshua and Jonathan Torres for seventh at the Last Chance Stampede in Helena, Montana with a 10.8-second-run, worth $362 a man.

Riley and Brady are third in the PRCA world standing with $86,978.17
