Pro Rodeo Results Wrap-Up: Hall and Tryan Clinch NFR Spot with Puyallup Win
Brenten Hall and Chase Tryan secured the Puyallup win to secure them each with a spot at the Wrangler NFR in December, with a few weeks left in PRCA Pro Rodeo's regular season.

With less than a month left if PRCA Pro Rodeo’s regular season, Jay, Oklahoma’s Brenten Hall has officially secured a spot to head at his first Wrangler National Finals Rodeo come December. The 2018 Resistol Rookie of the Year runner-up is currently ninth in the PRCA world standings with $82,837.36.

“It was a big win,” Hall said. “We were actually in a pretty good spot, but it really secured my first NFR trip.”

Hall and two-time NFR qualifier Chase Tryan (now 11th in the PRCA world standings with $82,837.36) won the Tour Finale at the Washington State Fair Pro Rodeo in Puyallup, Washington after roping their final steer in 5.9 seconds, worth $4,500 a man. Including the money they won throughout the rounds, they left Puyallup with some $9,279 a man.

“In the semifinals we were fifth out, so I kind of got to see what was going on there,” Hall said. “Five-flat was winning when I went. We just kind of made a kamikaze run—we were 4.3. The final round, we were third out. There was a leg winning it and they paid two monies, so I just knew that if we caught we were going to get money.”

The duo placed fourth in the average with a time of 12.0 seconds on two head, worth $781 a man. They tied Tyler Wade and Billie Jack Saebens for seventh in the first round with a 6.2-second run, worth $249 a man, then tied Jeff Flenniken and Tyler Worley for seventh in the second round with a 5.8-second run, worth $249 a man.

Hall and Tryan’s fourth-place average win qualified them to rope in the semifinals, where they tied Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira for first with a 4.3-second run, worth $3,500 a man, advancing them to the final round.

“It was a big relief. It took a big load off my shoulders,” Hall said with a sigh of relief. “‘I wasn’t nervous, but was just wanting to get it over with—wanting to win a little bit so I wasn’t worried about winning it at the end of the year. Now it just feels like we can go have fun and rope.”
