After cashing in $12,317 the week of June 17-22, Tanner Tomlinson has taken control of the 2025 PRCA heading world standings.

Tomlinson, 24, has $99,724.59 won on the year as of June 24, with his partner Travis Graves No. 2 on the heel side with $92,814.16. RodeoHouston champ Derrick Begay follows closely behind by $2,109.88 with $97,614.71, and last year’s regular season champion Dustin Egusquiza sits third with $78,388.47. For context, exactly one year ago Egusquiza led the way with $84,472.92 and JC Yeahquo was second with $76,592.33. In 2023, Rhen Richard sat No. 1 with $92,347.42 and Andrew Ward was second with $68,792.99.

Tomlinson and Graves kicked off their $12,000 week at the Snake River Stampede in Nampa, Idaho, with an 8.8 in Round 1, followed by a 3.6 in the second round for $3,602 a man. They then picked up the win in Elko, Nevada, at the Silver State Stampede with a 4.4 for $5,474 apiece. They rounded out the weekend back in Nampa where they won the short round for $1,080 a man with a 4.0 to help them pick up sixth in the aggregate for $2,161 a man.

After two straight trips to Las Vegas that included the 2022 NFR average title and the aggregate record on 10 head, the 2020 Resistol Rookie of the Year narrowly missed the 2024 NFR, finishing the ProRodeo season No. 19. He and 15-time NFR qualifier Graves started 2025 off with a vengeance, however, winning $25,350 a man in February for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo win. Since then, they’ve steadily stayed near the top of the world standings, thanks in part to a $37,000 trip to RodeoHouston in March.

So far in 2025, Tomlinson has been responsible for five 3-second runs. The first came in Round 3 of the Texas Circuit Finals in October with a 3.7, followed by a 3.9 in the second round of the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo this April. The month of May saw two more with a 3.9 at the Mt Pleasant Rodeo in Texas, and a 3.9 at the Music City Rodeo in Nashville. They also turned in a 3.6 in Round 2 in Nampa.

As the PRCA Playoff Series continues to assert its importance on an athlete’s season, Tomlinson currently sits seventh with 339.5 points. The top 24 in the point standings get a shot at the big money up for grabs in Puyallup, Washington, with the top four finishers in Puyallup and top eight in the Playoff Series standings advancing to the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
