Best friends and hauling partners Cassidy Boggs and Rylie Smith, of Whitsett, Texas, roped four head in 33.55 seconds to win the Cinch Ladies Open at the 2026 Cinch USTRC National Finals, earning $7,600.
For Boggs, 34, and Smith, 24, the win marked their first victory together since the 2022 Windy Ryon All-Girl.
“It’s always fun to win with your friends,” Smith said.
The pair put together runs of 7.62, 8.67 and 8.31 before finishing it off with an 8.95 in the short round to secure the win.
“I thought I got a good roll on all of them,” Boggs said. “Every one I turned, I felt like she was going to have him heeled.”
“She’s easy to heel behind,” Smith said. “You know where the steer’s going to be.”
Horsepower played a big role on both ends.
Boggs rode “Harry,” registered as Bet Hes Classified — her Riata horse she recently brought back from colic surgery and has only hauled a handful of times since.
“That was special for me,” Boggs said. “Just to have him back and doing his job like that.”
On the heel side, Smith rode her 8-year-old mare “CJ,” registered as Powder Chic, a horse she’s had since she was 3 and has done all the work on.
Between a comeback on the head side and a seasoned horse on the heel side, the combination gave them exactly what they needed to finish the job in Fort Worth.
