Ward, Hawkins II and Smith Shake Up the Prairie Circuit; Smith and Brown Surge for No.1 in First Frontier Circuit
The Prairie Circuit, Southeastern Circuit and the First Frontier Circuit standings saw some moves during a weekend full of ProRodeos.

Heading into the new weekend of rodeo, here are the circuit team ropers coming off a hot-streak in their circuit contention:

Prairie Circuit

The brother-in-law team of Andrew Ward and 2015 RNCFR Champion Heeler Buddy Hawkins II continue to rake in money to stay in the top two of the Prairie Circuit standings.

They placed third at the Wilson County Fair Association PRCA Rodeo in Fredonia, Kansas with a 5.0-second run, worth $1,318 a man. The duo also had a strong finish at the Cheyenne Cheyenne (Wells, Colorado) County Pro Rodeo. They won it with a 5.8-second run, adding $1,288 to each man’s earnings.

Ward is currently leading the Prairie Circuit with $11,625.78 and is 13th in the PRCA world standings with $30,184.95 in season earnings. Hawkins is second in the Prairie Circuit with $9,627.82 and 13th in the PRCA world standings with $30,184.95 in season earnings.

Oklahoma’s Thomas Smith, heeling for Landon McClaugherty, jumped right into the Prairie Circuit heeling standings after placing second at the Wilson County Fair Association PRCA Rodeo with a 4.6-second run, worth $1,551 a man, which put Smith at 18th in the circuit standings.

Southeastern Circuit:

Florida’s Justin Yost and Louisiana’s Reno Gonzales made a move in the Southeastern Circuit standings after winning the Southeastern Pro Rodeo in Ocala, Florida. They stopped the clock in 5.2-second, adding $1,028 to each of their earnings.

Yost is now 11th in the Southeastern Circuit heading standings with $5,781.85 won and Gonzales is 18th in the heeling standings with $3,007.98 in earnings.

First Frontier Circuit:

Delaware’s Chuck Smith and Maryland’s Kevin Brown are shaking up the First Frontier standings.

The North Easterners won the Cowtown Rodeo in Woodstown Pilesgrove, New Jersey with a 8.2-second run, adding $1,086 to each man’s earnings.

Smith and Brown are putting the pressure on the No.1 header and heeler in the First Frontier Circuit after jumping to No.2 with $2,095.20, each.

Note: These circuit standings will count for the 2021 RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo in Kissimmee, Florida, April 9-11. The 2020 RNCFR—to which contestants are already qualified based on their placing in the 2019 circuit standings or their circuit finals average win—has been rescheduled to Sept. 10-13 in Greeley, Colorado. How certain circuits—like the California Circuit and the Columbia River Circuit—will handle their circuit finals and year-end standings remains unclear.
