Trey Johnson just rolled into the $360,000 Cowtown Christmas Championship Rodeo in the Fort Worth Stockyards from teaching a roping clinic at NRS in Decatur today. He has another one tomorrow, but tonight will heel here for 2020 World Champion Header Colby Lovell.
“I stay so busy all the time, and the WCRA lets me pick and choose where I nominate, I don’t have to be on the road for 60 rodeos a year, and I still have the opportunity to compete at the top level for big money,” Johnson said.
He stays slammed with Trey Johnson Ministries & Leadership, which with his “Being Your Best With Trey Johnson” show reaches 500 million people worldwide each week.

“I want people to know God, and to be the best ‘them’ they can be,” said Johnson, who just returned from teaching leadership to the government of the Dominican Republic. “Mine is a message of hope.”
Trey nominated his way to roping here via the jackpot trail, where he’s been hot heeling behind Cowboy King Trevor Brazile. Johnson and Lovell led the WCRA Leaderboard until the last week of jackpots in Arizona before the NFR, when they were passed by 2021 World Champs Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira.

Now to finish in the top two tonight to advance to tomorrow’s Showdown Round of seven teams, in which Kaleb and Junior are already seeded. The top three will then compete in the Triple Crown of Rodeo Round, which will air Christmas Day on CBS.
