Ask the Pros–Horse Requirements

Dear Logan,
When you are looking for a new horse to rope off of, what are some of the things you look for?

Thanks,
Shelby, Locust Grove, Okla.

Dear Shelby,
When it comes to buying a rope horse, you need to be able to ride them three or four times. Make sure the horse fits you. Make sure the horse feels right to you. Check for soundness, their feet and their structure. The biggest part is being able to ride them and make sure the horse fits you and feels good to you where you are comfortable on them.

Sincerely,
Logan Olson
