Cowboy Christmas has come and gone, but the impact is still fresh on the standings, including on the circuit front. Take a look at who cashed in the most in each circuit over the Fourth run with rodeos from June 25-July 5, 2023.

Columbia River Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Toppenish Rodeo—Washington (June 30-July 1)
  • St. Paul Rodeo—Oregon (June 30-July 4)
  • Eugene Pro Rodeo—Oregon (July 1-4)
  • Molalla Buckaroo Rodeo—Oregon (July 1-4)
  • Basin City Freedom Rodeo—Washington (July 3-5)
  • Sedro-Woolley Rodeo—Washington (July 3-5)

Top Earners

Brenten Hall of Jay, Oklahoma, had the most successful Fourth run for the Columbia River Circuit on the head side. Hall, who ropes with Paden Bray, cashed in $6,524.00 between St. Paul and Basin City. In St. Paul, his sixth-place finish in the first round with a 4.8 brought him $1,436, and his 10.4-second average finished him third for $4,578. His 6.7-second run in Basin City brought him $510.

On the heel side, Jason Duby from Klamath Falls, Oregon, banked $7,170 over Cowboy Christmas in the Columbia River Circuit, cashing in at St. Paul, Toppenish, Eugene and Molalla. Duby was seventh in the second round of St. Paul with a 4.9 to win $898, first in Toppenish with a 6.1 for $2,248 and second in Eugene with a 5.5 worth $2,422. In Molalla, Duby won first in the second round with a 4.5 for $1,093 and fifth in the average with a 14.7 to take home $509.


California Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Folsom Pro Rodeo—California (July 1-3)

Top Earners

The California Circuit had a quiet weekend with only the Folsom Pro Rodeo taking place over the Fourth. Nonetheless, money was still won, and the top earners over the Fourth were Blake Hirdes of Turlock, California, and Mike George of La Grange. Hirdes and George were 5.6 seconds to win the rodeo and take home $1,331 each.


Wilderness Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series—Colorado (June 30-July 1) *co-approved
  • Oakley Independence Day Rodeo—Utah (June 30-July 4)
  • Western Stampede—West Jordan, Utah (July 1-4)
  • Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series—Colorado (July 3-4) *co-approved

Top Earners

Cole and Tyler Eiguren from Fruitland, Idaho, were the top money earners of the Wilderness Circuit over Cowboy Christmas bringing in $3,955 a man. The Eigurens won second in West Jordan with a 5.8 to cash in $1,427 each. Their 5.1-second run in Oakley City won sixth and $2,528 a man. Their Cowboy Christmas has officially put them in the circuit race, with Cole now sitting No. 7 and Tyler No. 6.


Montana Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Home Of Champions Rodeo—Red Lodge, Montana (July 2-4)
  • Livingston Roundup Rodeo—Montana (July 2-4)
  • Rodeo Roundup—Montana (July 3-4)

Top Earners

On the head side, Brady Tryan of Huntley, Montana, banked $3,470 over Cowboy Christmas in the Montana Circuit to be the top earner. Tryan won Roundup with a 4.4-second run to take home $1,806 and finished seventh in Red Lodge with a 4.8 to win $1,664.

Ike Folsom from Dillon took home $3,238 over Cowboy Christmas from Livingston alone. He split fourth with a 4.3 and now leads the heeling standings in the Montana Circuit.


Mountain States Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Greeley Stampede—Colorado (June 24-29)
  • Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series—Colorado (June 30-July 1)
  • Cody Stampede—Wyoming (July 1-4)
  • Brush Rodeo—Colorado (July 2-4)
  • Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series—Colorado (July 3-4)
  • Old West Trail Rodeo—Crawford, Nebraska (July 3-4) *co-approved

Top Earners

The team new to 2023 of Chad Masters and Trey Yates proves well-matched, cashing in over Cowboy Christmas in the Mountain States Circuit. The Tennessee and Colorado natives brought home $4,399 each just in Cody. Their 5.0-second run brought them a fifth-place finish and the $4,399.


Turquoise Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • World’s Oldest Rodeo—Prescott, Arizona (June 28-July 4)
  • Annual Fourth of July Celebration—Window Rock, Arizona (July 2-4)

Top Earners

It should come as no surprise that Chris Francis and Cade Passig had a major Cowboy Christmas payday in the Turquoise Circuit. The New Mexico guys banked $7,123 each in Prescott to claim top money earners in the circuit over the Fourth run and take the lead in the circuit. They won $1,096 each for sixth place in the first round with a 6.8, $1,918 each for fourth in the second round with a 6.3 and $4,109 each for second in the average with 13.1 on two head.


Texas Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Mesquite Championship Rodeo—Texas (July 1)
  • Belton CoC 4th Of July Celebration & PRCA Rodeo—Texas (July 1-3)

Top Earners

While there were only two rodeos in the Texas Circuit over the Fourth run, there was still money to be won. Jayse Tettenhorst of Jacksonville, Texas, and Montrel Gilder from Dallas took the win in Belton with a 4.2 to take home $1,368 each, making them the top earners during Cowboy Christmas in the circuit.


Prairie Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Mesquite Championship Rodeo—Texas (July 1) *co-approved
  • Old West Trail Rodeo—Crawford, Nebraska (July 3-4)

Top Earners

It was a quiet weekend for the Prairie Circuit as well, with only Jhett Trenary of Salida, Colorado, cashing in. Trenary was third in Crawford with a 13.5 to both take home $588.


Great Lakes Circuit

Cowboy Christmas Rodeos (including co-approved rodeos)

  • Mid-Western Rodeo—Manawa, Wisconsin (June 29-July 1)
  • Freedom Reins Pro Rodeo—Galena, Illinois (June 30-July 1)
  • Price County Rodeo—Phillips, Wisconsin (June 30-July 1)
  • Headwaters PRCA Rodeo—Park Rapids, Minnesota (July 1-3)

Top Earners

Cowboy Christmas is a relatively bust time in the Great Lakes Circuit. Ryan Von Ahn from Palmyra, Missouri, and Ranger Hill also of Palmyra were dominant over the Fourth run cashing in at every rodeo to bring their Cowboy Christmas total to $3,361 each. Their 5.3-second run in the first round in Manawa brought them $838 a man for second place. They also won Phillips with a 4.5 for $1,090 each, third in Park Rapids with a 5.7 for $923 a man and fourth in Galena with a 5.9 to both take home $510.


Southeastern Circuit

Top Earners

Keith and Kelton Brown from Keedysville, Maryland, were the top earners in the First Frontier Circuit over Cowboy Christmas. They were 6.6 seconds to win Cowtown and $920 a man.


Badlands Circuit

  • Headwaters PRCA Rodeo—Park Rapids, Minnesota (July 1-3) *co-approved
  • Black Hills Roundup—Belle Fourche, South Dakota (July 1-4)
  • Mandan Rodeo Days—North Dakota (July 2-4)
  • Sitting Bull Stampede—Mobridge, South Dakota (July 2-4)
  • Killdeer Mountain Roundup PRCA Rodeo—North Dakota (July 3-4)

Top Earners

The Badlands Circuit is one of the busiest over the Fourth with some impressive money to be won, and it was all about Jr Dees from Aurora, South Dakota, and Ross Ashford of Lott, Texas on the circuit front. Dees and Ashford brought home $2,175 each over Cowboy Christmas after winning $1,551 a man for seventh at Killdeer with a 4.7 and $624 a man for sixth at Mobridge with a 5.9.


Maple Leaf Circuit

  • Ponoka Stampede—Alberta (June 26-July 2)
  • Raymond Stampede—Alberta (June 29-July 1)
  • Airdrie Pro Rodeo—Alberta (June 30-July 1)
  • Williams Lake Stampede—British Columbia (June 30-July 2)
  • Sedro-Woolley Rodeo—Washington (July 3-4) *co-approved

Top Earners

Dawson and Dillon Graham of Wainwright, Alberta, put together a rich Cowboy Christmas not only in the Maple Leaf Circuit but also down in the States. The Grahams both banked $13,890 on the circuit front over the Fourth run. They cashed big checks in Ponoka winning third in the first round with a 5.6 for $3,426 a man, tying for third in the Finals with a 5.9 for $750 a man and first in the average with a 17.8 on three head worth $6,953 a man. They also took home $2,761 a man in Williams for fourth with a 6.1.
