Every winner at the Gold Buckle Futurities Spring Event will receive a $10,000 bonus check in Ardmore, Oklahoma, May 9-12, 2024, the group announced May 3.
Southern Ranches stepped up to offer a $10,000-per-division BIG bonus in the 6-&-Under Heading and 6-&-Under Heeling maturities, while Gold Buckle Futurities will sponsor the $10,000 bonus in the ropings’ other six divisions.
Located in Waxahachie, Texas, Southern Ranches has become a key player in the rope horse futurities. Owned by Shane and Jessica Boston, Southern Ranches is home to the popular junior rope horse sire, The Notorious B I G, and they’re the co-producer of the annual Clay Logan Open Roping.

Southern Ranches recently partnered with Gold Buckle Futurities for the Spring event to help increase payouts for a roping that the Bostons call a “win, win.”

For Shane Boston, it’s all about numbers.

Gold Buckle Futurities is owned and operated by 2021-2022 PRCA World Champion Kaleb Driggers, World Champion tie-down roper Shane Hanchey and NFBR and NFR qualifier Taylor Hanchey, World Champions Haven and Shelby Meged and Western Bloodstock’s Jeremy Barwick. It offers a stallion incentive as well as a breeder’s incentive, but horses do not have to be eligible for either to compete. Gold Buckle Futurities will accept late entries.
