Colorado Comes in Hot in the USTRC Cinch Ladies Standings

NOTABLE HEADERS

Walsenburg, Colorado’s Tess Menegatti entered the USTRC Cinch Ladies Standings this month when a third-place and second-place finish in the #13.5 and #12.5, respectively, earned her a total of 17 points at September’s Southern Colorado Classic. Combined with the 10 points she earned at late July’s Colorado Championships, the 30-year-old, 4.5 header catapulted to the very top of the leaderboard by a mere point over last month’s leader, Jill Elwood.

In addition to Menegatti’s arrival in the standings, things have heated up in the middle of the pack with Iowans Jana Murphy, 39, and Shawnee Murphy, 14, from Melrose, causing a stir in the run for fifth with 20 points—a spot Sydney Ball was able to claim as her own last month. The Murphys both began their point-earning journey in May at the Missouri Classic, then punched their Top 10 ticket with earnings at August’s Central Missouri Championships.

Kenzie Gordon, also from Colorado, in Florence, is another new Top 10 header, falling neatly into eighth place behind the Top 5 heat with 18 points earned in totality at the Southern Colorado Classic, where the 26-year-old, 5 header won the #13.5 and took third in the #12.5.

NOTABLE HEELERS

Sally Ball maintains her heeling lead with 21 points, while Pueblo, Colorado’s Christine Talton takes second this month after a successful heeling venture at the Southern Colorado Classic. There, the 45-year-old, 3 heeler racked up her total 14 points in the #7 when she finished in the third and fifth holes.
