Two-time NFR heeler Levi Lord now leads the PRCA world standings with $123,093.88 won in 56 rodeos on the year, matching his header—and fellow standings’ leader—Dustin Egusquiza’s dollar figure to the penny.
Reigning World Champ Junior Nogueira is second with $114,402.64 won, while Houston Champ Jeremy Buhler is third with $110,066.86. Consistency King Buddy Hawkins is fourth with $94,334.20.
Lord, 27, of Sturgis, South Dakota, is responsible for three 3-second runs this year with Egusquiza: a 3.5 at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo in February, a 3.4 in Nampa, Idaho at the Snake River Stampede and a 3.5 just last night (August 8) at the Larimer County Fair and Rodeo in Loveland, Colorado.
He and Egusquiza were the top earners over the Fourth-of-July Run, winning Livingston, Montana, Mandan, North Dakota, and Basin City, Washington, and placing at Prescott, Arizona, Oakley City, Utah, and St. Paul, Oregon.
With the PRCA’s Playoff Series having more significance than ever in 2023, Lord sits seventh in the Playoff Series standings with 537 pts. The top 24 in the point standings get a shot at the big money up for grabs in Puyallup, Washington, with the top four finishers in Puyallup and top eight in the Playoff Series standings advancing to the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Sept. 28-30, 2023.
Lord roped at his first NFR (in Arlington, Texas) with Nelson Wyatt in 2020 where he finished fourth in the world standings with $167,589 won. In 2022 he returned to the Finals with JR Dees, winning $211,128 on the year—including a Round 1 win for his first run inside the Thomas & Mack. TRJ
