The North Dakota Roughrider Cup is back in 2026, promising a major payout in the final two weeks of the ProRodeo season for team ropers.

With the top 32 teams in the world standings, plus qualifiers from key Badlands Circuit rodeos, set to rope Sept. 18-20, the Roughrider Cup is once again positioned to rattle the world standings in the closing weeks of the ProRodeo season. In 2025, our reigning world champions Andrew Ward and Jake Long took the Mandan win with a 4.7, good for $9,798 a man. The Roughrider Cup has $60,000 added on both sides again this year, and will pay 15 monies.

Mandan is also one of two last stops—Pendleton is the other—on the Cinch Playoff Series run before the Sept. 21 cutoff to get into the Governor’s Cup in Sioux Falls.

Who got into the North Dakota Roughrider Cup?

The top 32 headers and heelers in the 2026 PRCA world standings as of 7 days prior to entries closing qualify. The winners of each of the following four Badlands Circuit rodeos will also qualify for a total of 36 teams.

  • Mandan, ND (July 2-4)
  • Deadwood, SD (July 21-25)
  • Aberdeen, ND (Aug. 10-11)
  • Rapid City, SD (Aug. 23-25)
