Travel Las Vegas in 2019: Shopping, Music and More
Planning your trip to Las Vegas? Check out some daily shopping and nightly music.

Known as the city of bright lights and casino nights, Las Vegas, Nevada, is home to two of the most prestigious events— The Ariat World Series of Team Roping Finale and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. The city turns into cowboy town overnight when cowboys and cowgirls from across the globe gather round for 10 days at the Thomas & Mack and and nine days at the South Point Hotel & Casino. While you’re in town, don’t miss the live music, the endless shopping and more.

DAILY FUN

If you happen to head to Vegas a day before the Finale, check out some bucking horses in the PRCA Permit Holder of the Year Challenge and live bucking horse sale located in the South Point Arena & Equestrian Center Dec. 6.

While you’re watching the many team roping runs at the South Point, stretch your legs to check out the Cinch Western Gift Show, open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily during the WSTR Finale. Want to see the young guns go at it at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Halls? The Junior World Finals, presented by YETI, is one event you won’t want to miss. If you’ve had enough rodeo viewing, walk over to Cowboy Christmas and get some more shopping done.

The Cowboy Marketplace Gift Show, located at Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino, and the Country Christmas, located in the Rio Las Vegas, are two more spots to finalize any last-minute shopping needs.

NFR ACTION

Want to catch some rodeo action but can’t make it to the Thomas & Mack to watch the NFR live? If you’re at the South Point, head over to the Ram Rodeo Tailgate Party to enjoy a night out without leaving the hotel. The Mirage hosts the Rodeo Vegas 2019 at the Mirage Race & Sports Book, or head over to the Orleans Hotel & Casino for the Rump’s Rodeo Party hosted by Justin Rumpford at the Honky Tonk Saloon.

There’s more watch parties you can’t miss. Head on over to the MGM Grand’s Gold Buckle Zone, the Cowboys & Indians After Parties held at the Silverton Casino or Gary Leffew’s Bucking Ball held at the Cohiba Ball room in Tropicana.

NIGHT OUT

There’s so much to do just at the South Point. Kick off rodeo week Dec. 4 with Chancey Williams and the Younger Brothers Band at the South Point Show Room. After each go-round of the NFR, the winners head over to the South Point Show Room to receive their Montana Silversmith go-round buckles, presented by Flint Rasmussen and Randy Corly. Stick around after awards are presented for nightly live entertainment by Aaron Watson (Dec. 5 through Dec. 8), Josh Ward (Dec. 9 through Dec. 11), and Randall King (Dec. 12 through Dec. 14). If you want a good laugh, then head over to the Terry Fator Theatre at the South Point for nightly shows with Ron White (Dec. 6 and Dec. 7 and Dec. 13 and Dec. 14).

The Mirage Resort & Casino is a nightly hotspot. Head over to the Rodeo Vegas 2019 after party for free nightly concerts. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino will host live entertainment at The Joint by Old Dominion (Dec. 4 and Dec. 5), Gary Allen (Dec. 6 and Dec. 7) and Cody Johnson (Dec. 12). Grab the girls and head over to Planet Hollywood & Casino because Shania Twain is performing (Dec. 6 and 7, Dec. 11, Dec. 13 and Dec. 14).

Don’t forget some of the big name concerts. Enjoy George Strait (Dec. 6 and Dec. 7) at the T-Mobile Arena, Jason Aldean (Dec. 6 through Dec. 8) at the Park Theater (Park MGM) and Andrea Bocelli (Dec. 7) at the Golden Arena (MGM Grand).
