DT Hickorys Angus and Jeremy Buhler are out in front in the 6-&-Under Heeling at the 2025 ARHFA World Show, working with a near 10-point lead going into the Nov. 1 short round.
Buhler and DT Hickorys Angus are 701.79 on three, ahead of Joseph Harrison and 2024 Old West Champ Copperton who are 691.79 on three. Buhler and “Angus” won two of three rounds, already pocketing $4,000 for the horse bred and owned by Scottsdale, Arizona’s DT Horses.
Buhler is also fourth call on DT Get Yet Mask On with a 687.67.
Both horses are by DT Horses’ $4.4 million sire Hickory Holly Time, who leads all sires in ARHFA competition with $233,299 in progeny earnings in 2025 so far. Hickory Holly Time also produced the most earnings out of any Riata sire in 2025 with $299,554 at the September timed event. Before this week, his progeny earnings in QData were $4,462,094
“The success on a horse like Angus is about the team we’ve built,” DT Horse’s owner Dean Tuftin said. “From the mare he’s out of—the dam to Brady Minor’s Rey—to his start on the ranch and Jeremy’s time on him.”
That dam is Kings Sly Sugar by Kings Zantanon.

DT Hickorys Angus was on track to show his 4-year-old year, but a bruised coffin bone put him out for nine months. So the horse started showing his 5-year-old year in Canada with Buhler on the reins, and he dominated north of the border and placed nearly everywhere he went.

“He is so cool,” Tuftin said. “Nothing bothers that horse. You can rope on him in a halter.”
Tuftin credits, in part, the structure Hickory Holly Time puts on his offspring with the ease at which they pull back on a steer. Hickory Holly Time’s horses stop wide on the back end—making it easy for them to get into the ground and stop the run naturally.
DT Hickorys Angus had $106,837 won before the ARHFA, and he will enter the short round with a cushion that could allow him a businessman’s path to victory.
