IFR 54: Heath King and Stephen Britnell Walk Away with the Gold

The 2023 IPRA (International Professional Rodeo Association) season came to a close Jan. 11-14, 2024, at the famous Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma, with IFR 54.

The season started Dec. 2022, and the top 15 team ropers earned a spot to IFR 54 where they’d compete in four rounds to determine the IFR champions and IPRA world champs. When it was all said and done, Heath King and Stephen Britnell walked away the world champions.

King and Britnell both entered the IFR No. 1 in the standings. King had an $11,414.55 lead over the second place header, and Britnell, the now seven-time IPRA world champion, had $20,536.32 lead on the heel side. Throughout the entire finals, King and Britnell remained the top team in the world standings. They finished the year the world champions, edging out the second place guys by $13,131.03 (King) and $18,397.74 (Britnell).
