Meet the Team Ropers in The American Rodeo Hunt for $1 Million
There are 15 teams still alive in The American Rodeo battle with $1 million on their minds.

The road to the 2025 American Rodeo kicked off with the Contender Tournament Regional Finals and, between the West, East and Central Regional Finals, 15 teams have advanced to the American Rodeo Championship Weekend.

The 15 teams that qualified through a respective regional finals will compete April 11, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, to battle for a spot in The American Rodeo Championship on Saturday, April 12. These teams are eligible for the $1 million bonus. But it won’t be easy as they’ll battle the Top 5 teams from the 2024 PRCA world standings.

What is the American Rodeo Contender Tournament?

The American Contender Tournament West, Central and East Regional Semi-Finals attract qualifiers from both coasts as well as the Central United States to compete in the re-imagined tournament style format in hopes of making it all the way to The Crown Jewel of Rodeo™ —The American Rodeo 2025.

In 2023, more than 2,500 rodeo athletes competed across the country to vie for a chance at the $1-million bonus on the line if they made it to The American Rodeo, earning impressive money along the way. Guaranteed prize money is upwards of $540,000 for the Regional Semi-Finals and Finals.
