Quinn Kesler, 30, a three-time National Finals Rodeo qualifying team roper, died Feb. 26, 2024.
He leaves behind wife, Jessie, and daughter, Quincy; mother, Allyson Baker; father Greg, stepmother, Kaylynn; brother, Landon; and sisters, Camille, Nicole, Lindsay and Hailey.
Kesler, of Holden, Utah, was a prolific switchender, one of the elite group of 10 men who’d both headed and heeled at the NFR. He qualified first in 2016 with two-time World Champion Matt Sherwood, winning Rounds 3 and 7. Kesler heeled for Rhen Richard at the 2018 Finals, where they finished sixth in the average.
Kesler swapped to the head side in 2019 and, in 2021, he headed at the NFR for Joseph Harrison.
Kesler won $600,829 in his PRCA career, including numerous PRCA Wilderness Circuit titles on both ends. Other notable career wins include the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo in Denver, the Snake River Stampede in Nampa, Idaho; the Magic Valley Stampede in Filer, Idaho; the Silver State Stampede in Elko, Nevada; and many, many more. Recently, Kesler placed sixth in the average at the Riata Buckle’s Pro Futurity with longtime friend and partner Colby Siddoway.
