Pro Rodeo Results Wrap-Up: Sherwood and Koch Win $12,835; Driggers and Nogueira Earn $10,912 and MORE
Matt Sherwood and Hunter Koch had a big weekend after adding $12,835 to their earnings.

Matt Sherwood and Hunter Koch won the That Famous Preston Night Rodeo in Preston, Idaho with a 4.8-second-run, worth $3,041 a man. They placed seconded at the Pile ‘O Bones rodeo in Regina, Saskatchewan with a 4.4-second-run, worth $2,389 a man. They also placed third at the Strathmore (Alberta) Stampede with a 5.5-second-run, worth $2,794 a man.

“It was awesome because we’ve had a couple of bad weeks, so it was a really good week,” Sherwood said. “I got out of the barrier and turned eight steers out of eight steers—did my job”

They tied Rhen Richard and Clint Summers for fourth at the Mountain Valley Stampede Rodeo in Heber City, Utah with a 4.8-second-run, worth $2,566 a man. They also placed fourth in the average at the Great Sky Pro Rodeo in Great Falls, Montana, with a time of 14.9-seconds on two head, worth $954 a man, and placed second in the second round with a 4.3-second-run, worth $1,091 a man.

“It was even better because I struggled pretty good most of the month of July,” Koch said. “After the fourth it kind of went down hill for a while. I’m just fortunate enough to have a partner like Matt who just stays positive and keeps the vibe good. He just kept saying, ‘It’s going to be alright and we’re going to work through it. There’s a lot of good rodeos left.’ He kept saying that after every run. This week everything just kind of came together.”

Sherwood and Koch added a total of $12,835 to their earnings, jumping Sherwood to 15th in the standings with $50,170.93 and Koch to 11th with $60,358.09.

Not only did they win the 2019 Spicer Gripp Memorial Open Team Roping in Hereford, Texas, Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira added a total of $10,912 to their ProRodeo earnings last week. They won the Dodge City (Kansas) Roundup Rodeo with a time of 16.3-seconds on three head, worth $4,103 a man. They tied Caleb Smidt and Ty Arnold for first in the first round with a 5.0-second-run, worth $2,557 a man, and placed fifth in the second round with a 5.0-second-run, worth $1,308 a man. The also placed fifth in the final round with a 6.3-second-run, worth $315 a man.

Driggers and Nogueira tied Garrett Tonozzi and Dustin Davis for third at the (Phillipsburg) Kansas’ Biggest Rodeo with a 4.1-second, worth $2,629 a man.

Driggers is fifth and Nogueira is sixth in the PRCA world standings with $78,116.20, respectively.

The 2019 BFI Champions JR Dees and Lane Siggins added a total of $8,547 to each of their earnings. They won the average at the Northeast Montana Fair & Rodeo in Glasgow, Montana with a time of 10.0-seconds on two head, worth $1,934 a man. The tied Nolan Conway and Shawn Bird and Brady Tryan and Clay Futrell for second in the first round with a 4.9-second-run, worth $845 a man, and tied Alfred Hansen and Levi Tyan for fifth in the second round with a 5.1-second-run, worth $311 a man.

Dees and Siggins also tied Chaz Kananen and Tyler Whitlow and Steven and Jason Duby for first at Idaho’s Oldest Rodeo in Idaho Falls, Idaho with a 4.4-second-run, worth $2,884 a man. They placed fourth at the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo in Castle Rock, Colorado with a 5.9-second-run, worth $1,369 a man. They tied Radley Day and Taylor Williams for first in the first round at the Big Sky Pro Rodeo in Great Falls, Montana with a 4.7 seconds, worth $1,204 a man.

Dees is now 25th in the PRCA world standings with $37,620.69. Siggins is 27th with $36,769.02.

Chad Masters and Joseph Harrison added a total of $6,414 to each of their earnings. They placed second in the average at the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo with a time of 16.7-seconds on three head, worth $3,567 a man. They tied Adam Rose and Jett Hillman for third in the first round with a 5.1-second-run, worth $1,843 a man, and tied Nick Becker and Dawson McMaster for second in the final round with a 5.9-second-run, worth $753 a man.

Masters and Harrison placed sixth at the XIT Rodeo & Reunion with a 10.9-second-run, worth $251 a man. Masters is seventh in the PRCA world standings with $73,446.08. Harrison is eighth with $74,282.76.

Luke Brown and 2018 World Champion Heeler Paul Eaves won the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo in Abilene, Kansas with a 4.3-second-run, worth $2,420 a man. They also tied 2019 Resistol Rookie contender Garett Chick and Ross Ashford for first in the second round at the Dodge City Roundup Rodeo with a 4.3-second-run, worth $2,557 a man. Brown and Eaves placed fourth at the XIT Rodeo & Reunion with a 6.2-second-run, worth $704 a man. Brown and Eaves added a total of $5,681 to each of their earnings. Brown is sixth in the PRCA world standings with $77,135.71. Eaves is fifth with $81,191.15.

The 2018 World Champion Header Clay Smith and Jade Corkill tied Clay Tryan and Travis Graves for first at the Kansas’ Biggest Rodeo with a 4.0-second-run, worth $3,380 a man. They also placed second at the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo with a 4.4-second-run, worth $2,165 a man. Smith and Corkill added $5,545 to their earnings. Smith continues to lead the heading standings with $118,014.16. Corkill is seventh with $76,139.87.

Tanner Baldwin and Nano Garza won the Douglas County Fair and Rodeo in Castle Rock, Colorado. They roped their steer in 4.8-seconds, worth $2,248 a man. They also placed fourth at That Famous Person Night Rodeo with a 5.1-second-run, worth $2,080 a man. They added $4,328 to their earnings. Baldwin is 19th with $45,025.84. Garza is 16th with $47,213.47.

Spencer Mitchell and Cody Doescher won the Mountain Valley Stampede Rodeo. They roped their steer in 4.5-seconds, worth $4,063 a man. Spencer is 21st in the PRCA world standings with $41,317.47. Doescher is 26th with $37,059.94.

Along with tying Clay Smith and Jade Corkill to win Kansas’ Biggest Rodeo, Clay Tryan and Travis Graves also tied Tyler Waters and Seth Smithson for eighth at the Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo with a 8.0-second-run, worth $509 a man. Tryan is seventh in the PRCA world standings with $66,645.69. Graves is ninth with $66,645.69.

Radley Day and Taylor Williams won the Great Sky Pro Rodeo with a time of 10.7-seconds on two head, worth $1,977 a man. They tied JR Dees and Lane Siggins for first in the first round with a 4.7-second-run, worth $1,204 a man. Day and Williams added $3,181 to their earnings. 

Lane Gobel and Lucas Falconer won the Iowa’s Championship Rodeo in Sidney, Iowa with a time of 15.1-seconds on two head, worth $689 a man. They won the first round with a 7.8-second-run, worth $459 a man, and placed second in the second round with a 7.3-second-run, worth $344 a man. They also tied Dave Taysom and Austin Bown to win the Wisconsin Valley Fair Rodeo in Wausau, Wisconsin with a time of 7.9-seconds, worth $781 a man. Gobel and Falconer added $2,273 to each of their earnings.
