Cinch Ladies Heading and Heeling Race Sees Shuffle in the New Year
Lexi Andrews and Jimmi Jo Montera continue to lead the Cinch Ladies race, but the ladies behind them are closing in.

The leaders of the USTRC Cinch Ladies heading and heeling race may not have shifted, but the standings have seen some movement and new players enter the conversation.

The Leaders

No. 1 Header: Lexi Andrews


At just 17, Florida’s Lexi Andrews continues to lead the Cinch Ladies heading race. Andrews keeps her No. 1 spot with 65 points, a 14-point lead over Holly Childers at No. 2.

No. 1 Heeler: Jimmi Jo Montera


Jimmi Jo Montera holds strong to her Cinch Ladies heeling throne. The Colorado legend leads the pack with 56 points, giving her a 23-point lead over second place.

The Top 5

Headers


The Top 3 remain the same in the Cinch Ladies heading, but South Carolina’s Mary Margaret Smith is closing in. Smith sits fourth in the standings with 37 points after winning sixth in the #8.5 at the South Georgia Super Qualifier in Perry for 5 points. Cainlee Dale of Millsap, Texas, has climbed from outside the Top 10 to fifth with 32 points. Dale won sixth and eighth in the #10.5 at the Winter Classic for 8 points, plus second in the #8.5 for 9 points. Kylie McLean has also made her first appearance in the standings at No. 7 with 28 points. The San Tan Valley, Arizona, native won second in the #13.5 USTRC 7 Header for 9 points at the Lasso Del Sol in Queen Creek, Arizona, and second in the #12.5 for 9 points.

Heelers


Young gun Tillie Winters is gaining on standings leader Jimmi Jo Montera, now sitting second with 33 points. The Stephenville cowgirl picked up 7 points for fourth in the #8.5 and 9 points for second in the #7.5 at the Winter Classic. Missouri’s Tamie Massey remains third in the standings, but she’s added 9 points to her total. Massey now has 26 points thanks to a second-place win in the #8.5 Legends USTRC at the Razorback Classic in El Paso, Arkansas, in December. Megan Gunter of San Tan Valley, Arizona, has skyrocketed to fifth with 22 points after winning second in the #9.5 and third in the #10.5 USTRC Ladies Only at the Lasso Del Sol for a total of 17 points. The Top 10 rounds out with a tie between Amy Jo Lord and Ashtyn Pratz, both with 9 points. Lord, from Ocala, Florida, won second in the #8.5 at the South Georgia Super Qualifier for 9 points. La Mesa, New Mexico’s Pratz won second in the #10.5 USTRC Ladies Only at the Lasso Del Sol for 9 points.

Current USTRC or Key Card/Key Card Max membership is required to participate in the Cinch Ladies Year-End Award program. Earned points begin counting at time of membership purchase thru the NFTR’s last shootout event. The season begins the Monday after the last USTRC Cinch NFTR event and ends the last day of the next USTRC Cinch NFTR event.

Ropers must enter at least one Shootout division in the USTRC NFTR to be eligible. The award will be announced at the end of the USTRC Cinch National Finals of Team Roping event.

The points breakdown is as follows: Starting with At Home Challenge Events, ropers will earn 10 points if they win the Challenge. No other points will be awarded. At Signature Events, points will be awarded to those winning an aggregate check. It starts at First Place with 10 points, Second = 9 points, and so on as far down as the roping is paid. During the Cinch NFTR, the placing points are simply doubled. First Place is worth 20 points, second = 18, and so on. For complete rules, please visit USTRC.com.
