Andrew Duncan, of Stephenville, Texas, and Kelton Corkill, of Stephenville, Texas, capped off the 2026 Cinch USTRC National Finals with a win in the Classic Equine #7.5 Shootout, roping three steers in 25.69 seconds to earn $25,500.
Duncan, 22, who also won the #9.5 earlier in the week, found himself back in the winner’s circle on Sunday.
“I’m blessed,” Duncan said. “I’m glad I took advantage of this opportunity.”
For 12-year-old Corkill, it marked the first big win of his career — and capped off a big week for the entire family.
His dad, Jade, and brother, Colby, won the #16.5 together. Jade also won the Open with Tanner Tomlinson, and his mom, Haley, finished third in the same #7.5.
Duncan and Corkill opened with an 8.03 in Arena 1 and followed it with an 8.33 outside to come back high call.
“We just had to catch,” Corkill said.
Duncan rode “Swagger,” the same horse he rode to win the #9.5, and set it up in the short round.
Corkill handled the moment.
“I was kind of thinking about it… like, I can’t miss this steer,” he said.
They finished it with a 9.33 to lock in the win.
Once the flag dropped, the celebration was on.
Duncan threw his hat, and Corkill took a victory lap around the arena — something he’s been practicing at home after good runs.
“When they said $25,000, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I got to do it,’” Corkill said with a grin.
He made the run on “Rosie,” a 16-year-old mare Jade Corkill won as a yearling at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo and has hauled for years.
“She helps me so much,” Corkill said. “She gets me in the perfect spot.”
For Duncan, it capped off a career week.
For Corkill, it was a moment he won’t forget.
