Tracey Cearley, of Montgomery, Texas, and Chad Crisp, of Angleton, Texas, roped four steers in 32.57 seconds to win the #10.5 Key Card Advantage Ariat World Series Finale qualifier at the 2026 Cinch USTRC National Finals in Fort Worth, earning $47,300.

For Cearley, 58, and Crisp, 36, the win came after years of roping together — and a week in Fort Worth that didn’t start out their way.

“I struggled most of the week,” Cearley said. “My horse went down on me yesterday and fell on my ankle… but God healed me enough to win a little money.”

The longtime partners, who have roped together on and off for nearly a decade, put together runs of 7.69, 8.58 and 7.66 before finishing it off with an 8.64 to secure the win.

“I just wanted to go catch one more,” Crisp said.

“They were pretty smooth,” Cearley added. “I missed the barrier on the second one a little bit, but Chad really roped them quick and made it up.”

“I just wanted to be winning when I took my rope off,” he said.

Cearley rode “Shiner,” while Crisp was aboard his longtime heel horse “Pretty Boy Rick.”

For a team that had never won anything big together, the payoff came at the right time — and punched their ticket to the Ariat World Series Finale in December.
