Clint Summers didn’t plan to end the 2023 regular season in a do-or-die spot in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the Cinch Governor’s Cup.

But when he had to lay it all on the line to be 3.6 or faster in the final round of the very last rodeo of the 2023 regular season, Summers found out more about himself as a header than he could have ever imagined.

In this episode of The Score, Summers revisits the progress he’s made in his career since his first Finals on the heel side back in 2018, and he talks about what makes this NFR qualification with heeler Jake Long so special. PLUS the Florida switchender talks to host Chelsea Shaffer about WSR Hesa Alive, the 19-year-old gelding he rode at Sioux Falls.

NOTE: This episode was recorded and edited before the PRCA announced that Summers’ horse Mr Joes Shadow Bar won the Nutrena PRCA/AQHA Head Horse of the Year title.
