Owned by David James of James Ranch, Promise Of The Sun is a 2012 buckskin stallion by MP Jet To The Sun out of Pie Sky Promises, a proven dam with progeny earnings in excess of $500,000. 

Coming from a long line of winners and producers, the stallion continues to carry that legacy with his offspring.

From his first foal crop, Apache Promise is Promise Of The Sun’s leading money earner with lifetime earnings of $119,417, setting a new record as the first head horse to win a futurity and a go-round at the National Finals Rodeo, all with Clay Smith. 

Other winners include A Magical Promise and Sun N Sushi, who teamed with Apache Promise and Smith under the saddle of Cory Petska at the 2023 Riata Buckle Pro Futurity.
