The event will have three ropings. Don’t miss the the Classic Ropes Military and First Responders Roping, which will be a #10 slide open to all military members and first responders with great cash and prizes. That afternoon, catch the Prefiert Celebrity Roping, in which military members and first responders will draw their celebrity partner -- either a previous or current National Finals Rodeo qualifier -- for a chance at more cash and prizes. The headline event, Smarty’s World Best Texas NFR Shoot-Out, starts at 7:00 p.m. and offers spectators the chance to see the 2020 current NFR qualifiers ride for $10,000 (and climbing) in added money. NFR athletes will be available for autographs before the shoot-out.

All proceeds from the event, including a silent auction, will go to Building Homes for Heroes, a nonprofit organization that gives mortgage-free homes to military members.

“We don’t do enough for our military members and first responders,” says host and 10-time NFR qualifer Charly Crawford. “[My wife] Jackie and I knew we needed to do something, so we came up with this roping. These folks sacrifice their all and put their lives on the line for our country. They deserve the gold-star treatment.”
