Q&A from the Rodeo Road

Share

From time to time, I get questions from other ropers, and I’ll post them with my responses here.

Binion Asks:

Do you use full or lite heel ropes?

Answer:

I use the GT4 Lite.

I have used both the Lite and the full ropes. I prefer the Lite because most steers at the PRCA Rodeos and Open ropings are smaller and “fast-footed”. I can??adjust the speed of??my swing easier with a Lite rope. However if I were heeling primarily bigger, slower cattle, I would rather use the full-sized GT4 because it’s easier to get on the ground. The more rope you get on the ground, the faster a steer travels over your bottom strand.
