NELSONVILLE, Ohio (Sept. 12, 2022) – Durango® Boots is launching the first inaugural celebration of National Day of the Cowgirl on Sept. 15, 2022. The observance, officially secured by Durango® Boots through the National Day Archives, was established to recognize the women who personify the western lifestyle. To celebrate the first year of this observance on Sept. 15, Durango®, in partnership with numerous premier western brands, will share social content driving awareness of and celebrating the cowgirl spirit and offer interactive content and giveaways, including three ultimate mega cowgirl packages.

National Day of the Cowgirl is a celebration and recognition of the spirit of the American cowgirl – a spirit embodied by women who are strong, confident and resilient. Through farming and ranching, arts and culture or equine sports, the spirit of a cowgirl shines through women from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for the western way of life.

“We are excited to be spearheading an observance that highlights the achievements of women in the western industry,” said Erin DeLong, Durango® marketing manager. “This observance was created to honor and elevate the unsung women at the heart of the western lifestyle including those who continue to carve a legacy for future cowgirls. The cowgirl spirit lives in women of all ages and western walks of life spanning from farming and ranching to those with passions for western food, fashion, music, and athletics. Our hope is that this observance presents an opportunity for the industry to celebrate and recognize them all.”

Durango® encourages all western brands to join in the celebration of National Day of the Cowgirl and has launched a website, www.nationaldayofthecowgirl.com hosting a variety of assets available to those who join in the celebration of the observance. The site will also host the mega cowgirl giveaways offered by Durango® and other generous partners including PRCA, Dude Ranch Foundation, Montana Silversmiths, Charlie 1 Horse, Smarty Roping, Fringe Scarves, Rodeo Quincy and Of The West. Three winners will be chosen to win prizes including high-quality western wear products, a dude ranch vacation experience, tickets to the 2022 National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and tickets to The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.

Durango encourages cowgirls and supporters to use #nationaldayofthecowgirl when posting about National Day of the Cowgirl and to follow @durangoboots on social media for more updates.
