The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo runs Feb. 6-22, 2025, with a tournament full of 50 teams ready to test their mettle at one of the biggest indoor rodeos of the season.

Who competes in the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Team Roping?

San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo Team Roping Format

San Antonio’s tournament-style format includes 19 PRCA rodeo performances where contestants compete back to back in each Bracket. The top four money winners advance to a Semifinal Round and the top five out of each Semifinal advance to the Finals. The most money earned at the end of the Finals will be crowned the San Antonio Rodeo Champion.

Rodeo Wildcard

On Saturday, February 22 at 12:00 PM, the 10 contestants in each event who did not advance to the Finals from the Semifinal will have one more chance to make it into the Finals. The highest score and fastest time wins.

The team roping at San Antonio has a purse of $377,144, or $188,572 per side. There is no aggregate payoff. Here’s how it breaks down.
