Harrison Notches Third ARHFA World Championship in Five Years Aboard Relentless Remuda's WND Affair

This was the horse's second year in the Futurity under Rogers, who got him in as a 4-year-old from his Overbrook, Oklahoma neighbors Bill and Michelle Cowan.

"They live just right down the road," Rogers explained. "They have a roping arena, and the cutters who don't make, they start themselves in the roping. I saw Bill riding this horse one day when we were over there roping some fresher steers to knock them down. I saw something about him I liked. He is fancy to look at, and he can drag his butt pretty good."

That was at the end of June 2020, and Rogers went to work getting the horse ready to show. He wasn't all-there by October of that year, but they took him to the futurity for the experience, which paid off in a big way in 2021.

"I got a lot of confidence with him," Rogers said. "I took him jackpotting, and he's gotten easier and easier to rope on. There was no bad situation with him because I'd already put him through that."

Not to mention the horse had already seen the sights as a 3-year-old under Bill Cowan, and the pair raked in $10,000 in limited cutting outings.

"Through this whole time, the plan was to sell him," Rogers said. "That's what the Cowans want to do, but they're OK with doing whatever I want to do. The type of horse he is, he can fit anybody. He's easy to get along with and laid back. He's gotten super easy to rope on. About anybody could do what they wanted to do on him. I've headed on him just to head on him." TRJ
