Helton, Moreno Steal Pro Semis; 12 Teams Advance to PWR Championship Round
Kayelen Helton and Lorraine Moreno posted a 6.39—the fastest run of the event—to win the Pro semifinal, while Cassie Camarillo and Christie McClary topped Challenger at 7.88. Six teams per division advance to Friday's $114,000 championship round at Cowtown Coliseum.

The Pro and Challenger semifinal rounds are complete at the 2026 Premier Women’s Rodeo Championship, with 12 teams—six per division—punching their tickets to Friday’s championship round at Cowtown Coliseum.

Kayelen Helton (Stephenville, TX) and Lorraine Moreno (Mathis, TX) stunned the Pro semifinal field with a 6.39, the fastest run of either division across three rounds. They didn’t catch in Round 2, leaving them last in the average heading into Thursday—but the semifinal win pays $3,000 per woman and books them into the championship round as the Pro SF winners.

Cassie Camarillo (Maricopa, AZ) and Christie McClary (Hollister, CA) topped Challenger at 7.88 for $3,000 each, adding to their Round 1 win. They advance as the Challenger SF winners and sit second in the three-run average at 28.77 seconds.

Kenna Francis (Las Vegas, NM) and Whitney DeSalvo (Wilmar, AR) lead the Pro 3-run average at 25.04 seconds after a 6.87 in the semis for second-place SF money. Ashtyn Pratz (La Mesa, NM) and Heather Rogers (Round Rock, AZ) top the Challenger average at 25.72, also after a strong third-round backup at 8.29.

Mandy Niesen advances to the championship round with header Kelsey Russey, who blistered the semifinal field at 7.32 for third money. The pair’s R1 18.47 sits as their slowest run of the event but a clean catch all three times put them at 38.66 on three head—fifth in the Pro average.

Friday’s championship round is a clean-slate, one-head shootout for $60,000 first place per woman. Total championship-round purse: $114,000.

How advancement works

Six teams per division punch through the semifinal round to the championship round Friday: the semifinal-round winner plus the top 5 fastest combined times on three head. When the semifinal winner is also a top-5 aggregate qualifier — as Camarillo and McClary were Thursday in the Challenger — the aggregate slot rolls to the next eligible team. The championship round runs clean slate, with no times carried forward from previous rounds.
