Leaderboard Change: Kirchenschalger Moves to Number-One; Ashford to Number-Two
Tate Kirchenschlager and Ross Ashford won the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo with $25,750 a man, moving them into the top 5 in the PRCA world standings

Colorado’s Tate Kirchenschlager and reigning Resistol Rookie heeler Ross Ashford teamed up to dominated at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, banking $25,750 a man. 

At the tournament style rodeo, Kirchenschlager and Ashford started their week roping in the fifth bracket. The placed third on their first steer with a 6.2-second-run, worth $1,250 a man. They won the second round with a 5.5-second-run, worth $2,500 a man, then came back in the third round to place second with a 10.9-second-run, worth $2,000 a man, qualifying then to the Semifinals round in the number-one spot in their bracket with a total of $5,750 a man. Kirchenschlager and Ashford roped in Bracket II of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Semifinals, where they won the round with a 4.1-second-run, worth $5,000 a man, moving them to the finals with a total of $10,750 a man. 

“We drew good,” Kirchenschlager said. “That’s probably the main reason we did good. Personally I thought we outdrew everybody. That steer we ran in the Finals, they’d won a bunch on him already.”

They were the first team out in the final round, roping their steer in 4.7 seconds to win the round and the rodeo, worth $15,000 a man. Kirchenschlager is now the man to beat in the standings, sitting in the number-one spot with $37,447.44. Ashford is now in the number-two position with $34,475.78 (behind reigning World Champ Paul Eaves). 

North Carolina’s Jacob Dagenhart and Alabama’s Zack Mabry won a total of $4,611 each over the weekend. They tied Payden Emmett and Joe Day for first at the Weekley Brothers Davie Pro Rodeo in Davie, Florida with a 4.3-second-run, worth $1,350 a man. They won the Wide Open Rodeo in Fort Pierce, Florida with a 5.7-second-run, worth $1,159 a man. They placed third at the Hooters Fort Myers Pro Rodeo in North Fort Myers, Florida with a 5.6-second-run, worth $582 a man, and tied Tim Pharr and Ross Lowry for first at the (Perry) Georgia National Rodeo with a 4.8-second-run, worth $1,520 a man. Dagenhart and Mabry are now first in the Southeastern Circuit standings with $9,791.49 each. 

JoJo LeMond and Trey Yates won the La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros in Tucson, Arizona, roping three head in 18.1 seconds, worth $4,295 a man. They placed fifth in the first round with a 6.0-second-run, worth $1,379 a man. Then won the finals round with a 5.9-second-run in the mud, worth $1,102 a man. By the end of the rodeo LeMond and Yates banked a total of $6,767 a man, moving LeMond into the top 50 in the PRCA world standings with $7,321.93, and Yates into 21st with $12,052.41.
