Pro Rodeo Results: Smith and Long Win RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo
Smith and Long banked $25,207 a man at the RNCFR in Kissimmee, Florida.

Clay Smith and Jake Long started the year off on a heater, winning the Texas Circuit Finals Rodeo, the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo, the Wildfire XXI and now they’ve added the RAM National Circuit Finals Rodeo win to their résumé. 

Smith and Long kicked off their weekend in Kissimmee, Florida, winning the first round with a 5.0-second-run, worth $6,254 a man. They were 6.0 in the second round, which was good enough to put them second in the average with a time of 11-seconds on two head, worth $4,738 a man.

In the semifinals, Smith and Long tied Paul David Tierney and Tanner Braden for second with a 4.5-second-run, worth $6,634 a man. They turned in a quick 4.8-second-run in the finals round to win the rodeo, adding $7,581 to each man’s earnings. By the end of the weekend, Smith and Long added a total of $25,207 a man to their earnings, moving Smith to second in the PRCA world standings with $62,438.51, and Long into third with $54,938.51.

Tierney and Braden tied Fernando Gan Ruiz and Miguel Valenzuela and Tanner Baldwin and Myles John for second in the second round at the RNCFR with a 5.2-second-run, worth $3,475 a man. They placed fourth in the average with a time of 11.8 seconds on two head, worth $2,274 a man. They then tied Smith and Long for first in the semifinals with a 4.5-second-run, worth $6,634 a man, and placed second in the finals behind with a 5.5-second-run, worth $5,686 a man. Tierney and Braden added a total of $18,069 a man to their PRCA earnings, moving Tierney from 17th to seventh, and Braden from 17th to sixth with $35,309.02 each.

Tanner Tomlinson and Tyler McKnight teamed up to win the Rose City Roundup in Tyler, Texas. They roped their steer in 4.6 seconds, worth $1,772 a man. They also placed third at the YMBL Championship Rodeo in Beaumont, Texas with a 5.5-second-run, worth $829 a man. They added a total of $2,601 to their earnings which moved Tomlinson to 17th in the Texas circuit standings with $3,635.25, and put McKnight on the board in the top 30 with $2,601.25.

Lightning Aguilera and Ty Arnold won the YMBL Championship Rodeo with a 3.8-second-run, worth $1,266 a man. They also placed third at the Rose City Roundup with a 5.0-second-run, worth $1,161 a man. Aguilera is currently 14th and Arnold is 18th in the Texas Circuit standings with $3,880.22. Arnold is also in the top 30 in the PRCA world standings with $12,680.98.

Tyler Waters and Brady Norman won the Ellis County Livestock Show & Rodeo in Waxahachie, Texas with a 4.2-second-run, worth $1,676 a man. Then at the Walker County Fair & Rodeo in Huntsville, Texas, Waters and Norman tied Levi Simpson and Cole Davison with a 5.3-second-run, worth $759 a man. Waters and Norman added a total of $2,435 to each of their earnings. 

In the Turquoise circuit, Tom Richards and Nick Sarchett won the Cave Creek (Arizona) Rodeo Days with a 4.7-second-run, worth $2,508 a man. Richards is ninth and Sarchett is 10th in the Turquoise circuit standings with $2,905.62 each.
