Pro Rodeo Results Wrap-Up: October 1, 2018
The 2018 season has now come to a close and the top 15 is set in stone.

Lane Ivy and Buddy Hawkins II were in almost the exact position they were in this time last year, when they fell short of qualifying for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. But they wouldn’t be denied, and Hawkins II was determined to get Ivy there. That’s exactly what he did. They tied Kaleb Driggers and Junior Nogueira at the American Royal Rodeo in Kansas City, Missouri for second with a 4.6-second-run, worth $2,275 a man. They also placed fourth at the Comal County Fair & Rodeo in New Braunfels, Texas with a 5.5-second-run, worth $806 a man. Ivy has now qualified for his first trip to the Thomas & Mack ending the regular season in the 14th position with $67,457.62. Hawkins II is 13th with $64,451.02.

Tyler Wade and Tyler McKnight had a big weekend, winning two rodeos. They tied Bubba Buckaloo and Hunter Koch to win the 49th Annual Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo with a 3.9-second-run, worth $3,532 a man. They also won the American Royal Rodeo with a 4.4-second-run, worth $2,701 a man. Wade has now qualified for what will be his second trip to Las Vegas sitting 12th in the PRCA World Standings with $70,443.71. McKnight came up just short ending the season 16th with $60,834.33.

Rhen Richard and Quinn Kesler are WNFR-bound making it into the top 15 with $65,232.02 and $62,348.78, respectively. They tied Case Hirdes and Joseph Shawnego for fifth at the Poway (California) Rodeo with a 5.3-second-run, worth $1,422 a man, then onto the American Royal Rodeo where they tied Nick Sartain and Austin Rogers for with a 4.9-second-run, worth $1,706 a man. Richard will also be making an appearance in the calf roping sitting 13th in the World Standings with $83,373.02 and is in contention for the all-around race.

Dustin Egusquiza and Kory Koontz won the average at the Pasadena (Texas) Livestock Show & Rodeo after roping two head in 9.5 seconds, worth $1,986 each. They placed third in the first round with a 4.6-second-run, worth $867 each, and tied Paul David Tierney and Tanner Braden for fourth in the second round with a 4.9-second-run, worth $ 525 a man. Egusquiza and Koontz are third in the PRCA World Standings with $106,396.04.

Along with tying Ivy and Hawkins II for second at the American Royal Rodeo with a 4.6-second-run, worth $2,275 a man, Driggers and Nogueira placed fourth at the River City Rodeo in Omaha, Nebraska with a 5.5-second-run, worth $1,687 a man. Driggers is second in the PRCA World Standings with $114,951.69. Nogueira is in the number-one spot with $115,935.54.

Clay Smith and Paul Eaves placed third at Stephenville, Texas with a 4.0-second-run, worth $2,943 a man. Smith is leading the pack in the PRCA World Standing with $115,344.56. Eaves is second with $115,344.56.

Aaron Tsinigine and B.J. Campbell won the 34th Annual Andy Devine Days Rodeo with a 5.1-second-run, worth $1,013 a man. Then onto the Young Living Last Chance PRCA Rodeo in Mona, Utah where they won second with a 6.2-second-run, worth $1,720 a man. Tsinigine is ninth in the PRCA World Standings with $84,044.49.

Kolton Schmidt and Cole Davison tied Cory Clark and Dillon Wingereid for fifth at Stephenville, Texas with a 4.4-second-run, worth $1,962 each. They placed seventh at the River City Rodeo with a 10.3-second-run, worth $603 each, and tied Caleb Smidt and Rich Skelton for first in the first round at Pasadena, Texas with a 4.5-second-run worth $1,210 a man. Schmidt ended the season in the top 20 with $59,346.68. Davison qualified for his first trip to Las Vegas in the number-14 spot with $62,476.8.

Cody Snow and Wesley Thorp won the Apache (Oklahoma) Stampede with a 5.5-second-run, worth $1,773 each. They tied Quisto Lopez and B.J. Dugger at Stephenville, Texas for seventh with a 4.5-second-run worth $1,177 each. Snow is fifth in the World Standings with $91,862.74. Thorp is eighth with $88,173.41.
