From the bright lights of AT&T Stadium to the unlikely mix of music legends and rodeo stars, Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo wasn’t your average rodeo—it was legendary. With star power, a unique head-to-head team format, and the staple stoplight start, the event delivered unforgettable moments. These are five of our favorite things that made Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo one to remember.
The glitz and glamour
Two words: Kid Rock. There’s just something about Kid Rock singing from the backseat of a Cadillac, driven by J.B. and Jagger Mauney. Or Kid Rock riding a horse in his staple white undershirt with Parker McCollum right behind him. Between the bright lights of AT&T Stadium, the celebrity appearances and the athlete star power, Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo brings some major glamour to the rodeo world.

The everyday rodeo athletes
The everyday rodeo athletes getting a chance to qualify for Kid Rock’s Rock N Rodeo through WCRA Rodeo Corpus Christi made Arlington even more exciting. It gave rising talent a real shot at the big stage, proving that hard work and consistency can open major doors. The WCRA continues to create pathways like this that elevate athletes and expand opportunities across all levels of the sport. While the team roping of the Free Riders team featured guys who have been there, done that, some of the other events were a different story.
Priceless reactions
All the drama, all the emotions. When you’re competing head-to-head under stadium lights with Kid Rock watching, athletes–and their coaches–are bound to be passionate. Watching legends Joe Beaver and Sid Steiner scream and hug each other? Team Jokers raising their $27,000 checks high? Priceless moments.

The veterans
It’s no secret we love seeing the veterans return. So, maybe some of them never actually left, but seeing them all compete in this format was exciting. Team Jokers was stacked with legends. Chad Masters and Cory Petska to Colby Lovell and Jade Corkill made for a fun night of team roping. Oh, and did we mention the coaches? Talk about LEGENDARY.
Heel shots, obviously
Where there are rank heel shots, you will find The Team Roping Journal excited. We got to watch shots that almost defied logic because when there’s $27,000 on the line (and should we mention for the 100th time that Kid Rock was watching?) and a literal head-to-head battle, nothing is off the table.
