A leading breeder of ranch and rope horses, Cudd Quarter Horses, started by Renee Cudd and her late husband Bobby Joe, boasts a program with decades behind it.
The program is anchored by their line of Goldseeker Bars bloodlines, carrying on the versatility of AQHA Supreme Champion Goldseeker Bars through their progeny.
In 2022, NFR qualifier Rhen Richard rode One Smart Pistola to a top-five finish at the American Rope Horse Futurity Association (ARHFA) World Championship Heading Futurity and to the championship in the Royal Crown Open 6 & Under Heading; One Smart Pistola is a daughter of Cudd’s outstanding producing mare Una Pistola.
Cudd Quarter Horses also stands two sires: Metallic Gray by Metallic Cat and One Time Genuine, a son of One Time Pepto.
“Both of these stallions are relatively young, so their colts haven’t been out there much yet,” Cudd said. One Time Genuine will join Metallic Gray as a Riata Buckle stallion in 2023, meaning the offspring of both will be eligible for those roping futurities.
Cudd continues to offer these proven bloodlines through an annual production sale held in the days leading up to the Woodward Elks PRCA Rodeo each June; approximately 60 2-year-olds are sold during the event, all sold with 90 days’ riding.
Among the Cudd Quarter Horse Sale proven performers are Hotrod Song, who carried Taylor Munsell to a Reserve finish at her first National Finals Breakaway Roping in 2021, as well as many AQHA and ARHFA performers.
