SEVs Judgement Day “Jet” has the pedigree to be a performance champion; his sire, Judge Cash, has progeny earnings over $4 million in the arena and on the track while his dam’s lineage produced An Oakie With Cash, recently named the Barrel Horse of the Decade.

Gearing up another season of roping, Jet is proving bloodlines don’t lie.

“He’s a 1D barrel horse, high-level head horse, runs 20-second poles and also breakaway ropes,” said Hilary Hilzendeger, his co-trainer. “He is unbelievably talented and has a great mind.”

The 2015 grey stallion excelled as a barrel racing futurity horse with Hilzendeger, earning a finals position in the 2019 Oklahoma City Futurity and a top-10 finish in the WPRA Futurity World Standings. Under Hilzendeger’s husband, Cody, Jet claimed the championship in the Limited Open Heading at the 2022 Royal Crown Roping Derby.

“Cody and I have had Jet in training since he was 3 years old,” Hilzendeger said. “He has been a dream to train and have around. Everything we throw at this horse he just takes and tries his hardest.” With his first crop on the ground in 2023, Jet will stand for a second season at Switzer-Hill Horses in Weatherford, Texas.

“I’m excited to start seeing some babies by him hit the ground,” Hilzendeger said. “He has a ton of speed but has a lot of natural rate which will be an asset to a lot of mares, especially since he is a complete outcross.”
