Pride And Joyy—with his $313,423 in lifetime earnings—is the winningest futurity rope horse of all time with a royal pedigree to match.
Pride And Joyy won with Chris Dawson in the cow horse, finishing third in the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity as a 3-year-old. Solo’s Ty Smith, who originally raised the horse, bought him back in the winter of his 4-year-old year with Kaleb Terlip, Miles Baker and Trevor Brazile, and the Remuda crew went straight to heeling on him.
“It was probably as easy of a transition as anything that I’ve ever rode,” Baker said of the swap to heeling from the cow horse. “His ability is just insane. He’s natural. He’s so natural with a cow. He was just so broke and had such a good feel and good timing and a good stride that, from the first time I swung a rope on him, it was about 60 days until I took him to the Red Bud in Oklahoma City, and I want to say was the highpoint horse at the AQHA horse show.”
After a six-figure 4-year-old year, Pride And Joyy kicked it into high gear in 2024. “The real deal” is how World Champion Jeremy Buhler described him after winning the Royal Crown Futurity on him in Buckeye, Arizona, filling in for an injured Brazile.
Pride And Joyy ended the year with the 2024 AQHA Junior Heeling World Championship with Miles Baker at the helm, making him the most accomplished futurity horse in history with 12 full months left in his career.
