As Show Me The Buckles enters his fourth year standing at Lazy E Ranch under Reliance Ranches, his influence on the rope horse industry continues to accelerate. The 2008 palomino stallion, a former NRHA Open Futurity Co-Reserve Champion, has established himself as a leading sire whose get are consistently rising to the top of the futurity and derby ranks.
Buckles’ offspring have now earned $564,876, led by standouts making their mark in the Relentless Remuda program. RR Buckles Clubhouse, a 2019 gelding shown by Trevor Brazile and Miles Baker, closed his futurity career with $254,801 in earnings and major wins at the Equinety Platinum Medal Futurity, TX Best Heading Derby and the Gold Buckle Futurities World Finals. Tuckin Away Buckles has earned $103,827 under Brazile and Baker, while A Big Vintage Buckle has added $49,322 to the stallion’s total. His progeny continue to produce strong results across heading, heeling, breakaway and tie down, with additional foals performing in reining and ranch events.
The next wave is coming quickly. With more Buckles offspring entering the Relentless Remuda pipeline every year, the program expects a steady run of futurity and derby-caliber performers carrying the stallion’s name into the future.
“While cutting bloodlines have more hesitation to the cow, this stud’s genetics put him on the offense, and we’ve seen it in action,” Brazile said. “He’s the kind of aggressive to the cow that ropers want—whether it’s in the breakaway, tie down, heading or heeling.”
Show Me The Buckles continues to stand as one of the most versatile sires in the industry, producing horses with the build, power and cow sense to excel across today’s fastest growing rope horse disciplines.
